Thorny Cyst Location
To locate Thorny Cyst, players are initially advised to head to Mont Esus East. They can do this by diving beneath the waterfall in the area. Alternatively, players can use an underwater teleport point to directly reach the vicinity and then proceed southwest toward the waterfall area. As they approach, they will notice a sizable tunnel entrance. Following this tunnel will eventually lead them to a blocked passage, guarded by a new type of enemies that attack when nearby known as mini meanies. Before reaching this point, players can also collect a Hydroculus and an Exquisite Chest within the tunnel.

Luckily, defeating Thorny Cyst follows a relatively straightforward process, as players will predominantly rely on the Xenochromatic Jellyfish's ability to inflict damage. However, it's worth noting that players cannot directly harm Thorny Cyst until they have eliminated a specific quantity of its restraining roots.
Genshin Impact: All Scenes From Life In Meropide Quests (Credit Coupon Reward)
There are 12 Scenes From Life in Meropide quests in Genshin Impact, and each grants Credit Coupons along with Primogems.
Thorny Cyst's HP bar remains slightly grayed out until it becomes vulnerable to damage. Players simply need to locate the glowing roots and target them with the Xenochromatic Jellyfish's abilities. - While the characters used doesn't matter for Thorny Cyst since it is an underwater fight, utilizing characters like Lynette and Neuvillette can prove to be advantageous due to their passive abilities. Lynette's passive talent is particularly helpful as it enables players to easily spot fish clusters that can restore HP to the entire party when nearby, simplifying the process of locating them. Meanwhile, Neuvillette's passive skill allows for faster swimming, facilitating quicker navigation to reach the moving glowing roots.
- For efficient HP management during the battle, players may also consider relying on the NRE gadget. If equipped, it will allow players to heal characters easier without going through the menu or revive the fallen characters.
- It's advisable to swap characters strategically, ensuring that they are roughly depleted by a similar percentage when collecting fish clusters. These clusters provide healing to the entire party, not just the active character, thereby players get to heal more while conserving fish clusters, especially if they are taking a long time to defeat the Thorny Cyst.
- In instances where players find it challenging to accurately aim the Jellyfish bomb or if it's taking too long to reach the desired location, they have the option to detonate it mid-launch instead.
Rewards For Defeating Thorny Cyst
After successfully defeating Thorny Cyst, players will be rewarded with three main prizes. The primary reward is a Luxurious Chest, which holds valuable items and resources. Additionally, players will earn the "Break The Time Zone" achievement in the Wonders of the World category, which grants an extra 5 Primogems.
Moreover, players will also receive a Mysterious Ore as part of their rewards. This resource is essential for accessing specific hidden exploration areas within the game, and players will need to collect a total of 7 of these items to progress further in these areas.
