As they explore the world of Genshin Impact, players are certain to encounter many secrets scattered throughout the land of Teyvat. This includes a number of concealed chests, lost treasures, and hidden achievements. This also includes several hidden quests available for players to discover. Many of these missions are activated through random encounters with a certain location, object, or NPC. One of these hidden quests will require players to venture from the mainland and explore the inhabited island off the coast of Teyvat.
The Time and the Wind quest in Genshin Impact can be activated by interacting with the ruins located on a nameless island off the Eastern coast of Mondstadt. This island can be spotted from the highest point of Starsnatch Cliff. Before starting this mission, players must have access to at least one of the many Anemo users, as the Anemo elemental skill is required to complete this quest. The Traveler can be used. However, players should be sure that their character is attuned to Anemo before embarking.
Genshin Impact: Is "Intensity" Really The Key? Quest Guide
Following Loshts' direction will lead players to Ma’chah who triggers Is "Intensity" Really The Key? Quest in Genshin Impact.
Updated on July 12, 2025, by Nahda Nabiilah: Mondstadt is the first region players will be able to explore freely in Genshin Impact. Triggering the Time and the Wind quest will, however, pose a challenge for new travelers as it's a hidden quest. Completing it entails running around an uninhabited island searching for clues and fighting the Eye of the Storm boss twice. Ironically, the biggest challenge is how players will reach the nameless island, as it's very far away and doesn't possess a teleport waypoint.
How To Reach The Nameless Island In Genshin Impact
To reach the nameless island in Genshin Impact, you can use a Cryo character to build an ice bridge to the island or glide there from the top of Starsnatch Cliff. The fastest method is by gliding from the top of Starsnatch Cliff, but it's only viable for players with high-level or maxed-out stamina.
Gliding stamina consumption can be reduced by:
- Including at least two Anemo characters in the party. This will activate Anemo Elemental Resonance, reducing stamina consumption by 15%.
- Use a character that reduces gliding stamina consumption, like Venti and Amber.
- Consume recipes that decrease gliding stamina consumption (e.g., Barbatos Ratatouille, Minty Meat Rolls) or restore stamina, such as the Northern Smoked Chicken. Just remember that each item has a cool-down period before another can be consumed.
Those having difficulty gliding to the island may also try reaching it on foot. Use one of the Cryo Elemental users like
Kaeya to construct an ice bridge across the water. This method, however, is much more time-consuming. You can also alternate between Anemo and Cryo characters to help spread the ice and make the trip a bit faster.
How To Complete Time And The Wind Quest In Genshin Impact
Once on the nameless island, players should explore the ruins located in the center of the island. Examine the "Ravaged Carving" on the sundial. Paimon will advise the player to continue searching for clues to uncover the mystery of the island, which triggers Time and the Wind hidden quest in Genshin Impact.
Next, players should head to the southern coast of the island, where the abandoned campsite can be found. There will be a group of breakable stones nearby. If you have trouble locating them, look for a shovel sticking out of the dirt. Beneath the stones will be a copy of the "Ragged Notebook." A quick read of the notebook reveals that a previous scholar attempted to study the sundial, but failed due to him not being a Vision holder. They did, however, take note that the air felt strange during the early morning hours between 2 AM and 5 AM.
Travelers will need to utilize their Elemental Sight during the hours of 2 AM and 5 AM (in-game time). By doing so, a number of wind clusters are revealed, scattered around the island. Use Anemo to disperse them. There are four wind clusters in total:
- One is located atop the tallest pillar next to the sundial.
- One is located on the northeast coast of the island, floating above a rock behind a Ruin Guard.
- One is located on the southeastern coast of the island. It will be floating above the water.
- One is located in the ruins behind the sundial.
After dispersing all the wind clusters, you will receive a new objective: Scatter the Deposit of Wind. Return to the sundial and use the Elemental Skill again. Players will notice another cluster of wind floating in front of the sundial. Prepare any bow-user in the party and then use Anemo to scatter the wind deposit. This will reveal an Eye of the Storm that the player must defeat. As the boss is floating most of the time, it's recommended to use a bow character to shoot it while in the air and then switch to a melee DPS once it falls to the ground.
However, before players are able to defeat it, the enemy will retreat and fly away. Follow it by using the wind currents it leaves behind. If a player happens to lose track of the direction they are supposed to be going in, they can simply teleport to the Temple of the Wolf and head northeast until they come across a group of Hilichurls around another sundial.
Defeat the group of Hilichurls and use the Elemental Sight again to search for wind clusters between the hours of 2 AM and 5 AM. All the clusters are located around the sundial, and removing the first two will spawn a group of Slimes, while the third summons the Eye of the Storm.
After defeating the boss, speak with Henry to complete the Time and the Wind quest and receive the Nothing to Lose But Time hidden achievement in Genshin Impact as well as the following rewards:

Adventure EXP.
-
60,000
