Genshin Impact has officially revealed a major new gameplay module, which will serve as a platform for players to create custom content, engage in public lobbies, and even customize their own character. While a sandbox mode for Genshin Impact has been in development for a while, HoYoverse is finally ready to share its vision for the future of the game. The module, at its heart, is a platform for User Generated Content (UCG), and as such, exists separately from Genshin Impact.
Whereas Divine Ingenuity and the Serenitea Pot in Genshin Impact are seamlessly integrated into its gameplay, the UCG mode is conceptualized as a more loosely-connected platform. Inspired by user creations made via the Serenitea Pot and Divine Ingenuity, Genshin Impact has decided to give even more powerful tools to its players, with leaks pointing towards full coding support and extensive character customization.
Genshin Impact Leak Teases Free 5-Star Character for Version 6.0
A new Genshin Impact leak emerges within the community, suggesting that players will receive a free 5-Star character during Version 6.0.
Genshin Impact Reveals a Powerful Creative Toolkit With Its Upcoming UCG Mode
The UCG mode was initially announced for the Chinese audience of Genshin Impact on August 8, 2025, but now global players can gain an understanding of the new sandbox as well. While no release date has been given for the upcoming UCG mode in Genshin Impact, HoYoverse made sure to mention that it would be rolled out by the end of 2025. As a creative tool, it will allow players to effectively build their own experience in Genshin Impact and share it with the community. This can be something as simple as a multiplayer minigame or as complex as a single-player adventure.
Based on leaked footage, the UCG mode may bear the name Miliastra Wonderland, and will seemingly feature co-op of up to eight players. Some rumors even point towards the sandbox having its own separate gacha system, focused on cosmetics rather than characters. The most plausible release window for the UCG mode is likely Version 6.1, as HoYoverse will no doubt want to give players a chance to enjoy the region of Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact during its debut.
It remains to be seen how the UCG mode will handle public and private lobbies, but it's no secret that Genshin Impact has been trying to strengthen its co-op systems ever since Natlan. Version 6.0 will kick off a new era for the game with the Song of the Welkin Moon, and all signs point towards HoYoverse making some bold choices over the course of Nod-Krai in Genshin Impact. If the UCG mode does not come out in Version 6.1, then the only other plausible candidate is Version 6.2, which is set to launch on December 3, 2025.
