Ascension is a major part of Genshin Impact, and it applies to both weapons and characters. To ascend characters, people must defeat some world bosses, but for weapons, it's weapon domains that need farming. Typically, the items required to ascend a weapon depend on the lore of the equipment, so if the item's lore is in Liyue, then its material is obtainable in the Land of Contract.
In Mondstadt, the weapon enhancement materials exist in the Cecilia Garden. However, new Genshin Impact players won't have this place unlocked automatically as they must find four Cecilia Garden Seelie locations to solve the puzzle. Here's how Travelers can do it.

How To Unlock Cecilia Garden In Genshin Impact
Cecilia Garden domain is located west of Mondstadt City. After unlocking it, players can visit this place to obtain Mondstadt Weapon Enhancement materials. To unlock Cecilia Garden in Genshin Impact, people must bring back four Seelie to the Seelie Courts in front of the domain.
Once all the Seelie are home, the Anemo Monument in the middle will unlock. Use an Anemo attack using characters like Genshin Impact Sucrose or the Main Character, and a cutscene will start, showing Cecilia Garden's domain rising from the ground.

Some Hilichurls surround the first Seelie, and it's best to defeat all the enemies to stop them from halting the puzzle-solving. Afterward, walk toward the Seelie so that it moves back to its Court. Meanwhile, the second Seelie is floating right in the middle, but its Seelie Court is hidden by a rock pile. Destroy the stones using blunt damage or melee attacks, and the Seelie should return right away. If the blue spirit didn't move, players can try resetting their game.
The third Seelie is trapped inside a wind current, so players must climb up the broken walls and then jump inside the barrier. Once there, switch to an Anemo character in Genshin Impact and hit the Elemental Monument to remove the barrier, allowing the Seelie to exit.
Finally, head to the eastern side of the domain to find breakable boulders on the cliffside. Use blunt damage or melee attacks to destroy the object and reveal the final Cecilia Garden Seelie locations in Genshin Impact. Lead it back to the court to unlock the Elemental Monument in the middle.
