Summary
- Genshin Impact 5.6 Phase 2 features Kinich & Raiden Shogun as five-star characters with strong skill sets.
- Thoma, Sara, and Lynette help round out the four-star character lineup for varied team compositions.
- Limited-time banners for Phase 2 will arrive on May 27, giving players a chance to secure these characters.
Genshin Impact has officially revealed all the characters that will be featured during the second phase of the ongoing Version 5.6 update. Just like every other update, Genshin Impact Version 5.6 is divided into two parts, each featuring a different set of limited-time characters. These lineups always include two separate banners, each with one limited five-star character and a shared four-star lineup consisting of three playable units.
The first part of Genshin Impact 5.6 introduced two new five-star characters: the famous Fontaine chef Escoffier and Natlan's veterinarian Ifa. HoYoverse has confirmed only two new playable units for this update, which means the second phase will not introduce any new additions to the roster.

An interesting Genshin Impact chart ranks the playable characters by their usage rate in the current Spiral Abyss for update 5.6.
Genshin Impact’s official Twitter account has revealed the two event banners set to arrive in the second phase of Version 5.6. According to the post, the second phase will feature two five-star characters, Kinich and Raiden Shogun, alongside three four-star characters: Thoma, Sara, and Lynette. Although Kinich was initially released back when Natlan launched in update 5.0, this will be his first rerun banner. Kinich has remained one of the most fun-to-use five-star units from Natlan, thanks to his ability to traverse the overworld using a grappling hook. His primary role is main DPS in Genshin Impact, making him ideal for team compositions that focus on combining Dendro and Pyro to trigger Burning effects.
Genshin Impact 5.6: Phase 2 Banner Characters Revealed
- Kinich (five-star Dendro user)
- Raiden Shogun (five-star Electro user)
- Thoma (four-star Pyro user)
- Sara (four-star Electro bow user)
- Lynette (four-star Anemo user)
Kinich’s banner companion, Raiden Shogun, is still considered an S-tier pick despite being released at the start of the Inazuma update. Like most previously released Archons in Genshin Impact, one of Raiden Shogun’s strongest traits is her flexibility, as she fits into nearly any team composition.
While she can fulfill various roles except healing, Raiden Shogun is best used as a sub-DPS or support, and she remains one of the best battery characters in the game. The four-star lineup also includes some solid support picks. Many fans have pointed out that HoYoverse continues its pattern of featuring the Electro user Sara only when Genshin Impact's Electro Archon is one of the banner’s five-star headliners.
However, others were surprised to see Lynette featured on a limited banner despite her brother Lyney not being one of the available five-star characters. Players who still wish to pull for Escoffier, Ifa, or any of the currently featured limited characters have only a few days left to do so, as the Phase 2 banners for Genshin Impact Update 5.6 are scheduled to arrive on May 27.
