There are many things that Genshin Impact can improve to make the game better, like adding rides for faster explorations. While players didn’t exactly have rides when Natlan dropped, the developer ensures exploring the Land of Fire won’t be a hassle by inserting exploration mechanics.
This new system comes with the assistance of adorable Saurians. In version 5.0, three of these Saurus become available, Tepetlisaurus, Yumkasaurus, and Koholasaurus. Here’s an overview of what each Saurian does to ensure you can solve every puzzle in Natlan.

While the citizens of the Nation of War are known to bond with the Saurians of their respective tribes, Travelers can indwell these creatures and borrow their powers. This will help players explore Natlan with ease and solve some Saurian-exclusive puzzles. There are some obvious abilities for some Saurians, but each also has unique features that are not too obvious. This article has been updated to include the two new Saurians released in version 5.2.
Qucusaurus Abilities In Genshin Impact
Qucusaurus' main feature in Natlan is flying. This companion of the Flower-Feather Clan tribe is known to bond with the warriors of the group. Here are all the things a Qucusaurus can do:
- Jump to start floating and gliding. Use Phlogiston to stay up without losing altitude.
- Break solid Phlogiston Crystal Reckon Targets.
- Enter Phlogiston Wind Tunnel.
- Float on Gaseous Phlogiston.
- Consume Gaseous Phlogiston Lumps and make Phlogiston Currents.
Iktomisaurus Abilities In Genshin Impact
The following are the things that Iktomisaurus can do in Genshin Impact:
- Absorb Nightspirit Graffitis and place Nightspirit Bodies.
- Activate Nightspirit Sigils.
- Activate Ancient Inscribed Rings.
- Leap up gently.
- Use special Elemental Sight.
Tepetlisaurus Abilities In Genshin Impact
Tepetlisaurus is the Saurian that resembles the Geo Element in Genshin Impact. They share their abilities with the Children of Echoes, like Kachina. Here’s what you can do with Tepetlisaurs:
- Burrow into the ground and "climb" walls and cliffsides.
- Enter Fissures (red holes made of solid Phlogiston) and traverse quickly on walls.
- Unearth hidden objects by using their attack on a pulsing ground.
Tepetlisaurus will greatly help you move around Natlan as the Land of Fire is filled with large cliffsides and valleys. Kachina is also a free character in Genshin Impact, so you can always include her in your team if you plan to go up and down the mountains.
Yumkasaurus Abilities In Genshin Impact
Yumkasaurus resembles the Dendro Element in Genshin Impact. They’re close to the Scions of the Canopy, like Kinich. This Saurian has the following abilities:
- Hook their tongue to Coilgrass Sigils to move swiftly.
- Activate Special Coilgrass Sigils to create a platform to rest.
- Grab items like Flamegranates and Relay Balls, then store them in their mouth.
- Throw items after grabbing them.
- Pull an object with a specific grappling hook.
Coilgrass Sigils are basically Four-Leaf Sigils, but this time, only certain characters and Saurians can utilize them. If you don’t have Kinich, you’re forced to always keep an eye on Yumkasauri to hook on a Coilgrass Sigil.
It’s quite a downgrade since Sumeru has no limitations when it comes to using these Sigils, but don’t worry, as the Saurian is always in the vicinity if you need the creature for puzzle-solving.
Koholasaurus Abilities In Genshin Impact
As the Saurians of the People of the Springs, Koholosaurus inherits the Hydro theme in Genshin Impact. Koholosaurus can do these things:
- Swim safely in Liquid Phlogiston.
- Ride the Spiritways.
- Utilize Jet-Set Eddies.
- Unveil Phlogiston engravings and scripts.
- Destroy Flowlight Targets.
Swimming outside Fontaine is likely one of the worst experiences in Genshin, since you’re restricted with your stamina bar. This is why characters like Ayaka and Furina in Genshin Impact are highly favored to walk on water. In Natlan, not only by using Koholosaurs, you can also utilize characters like Mualani to explore areas surrounded by water.
