Summary
- Varesa, a 5-star Electro character from the Collective of Plenty, will make her playable debut in Version 5.5 of Genshin Impact.
- Version 5.5 is expected to launch on March 28, 2025.
Genshin Impact has officially unveiled Varesa, the upcoming 5-star from the Collective of Plenty, who is set to make her playable debut in Version 5.5. Despite never appearing in Genshin Impact prior to the upcoming patch, players are expecting a lot from Varesa. Many Genshin Impact players expected Iansan to be the 5-star of her tribe, which made some fans resentful of Varesa taking her place. However, this sentiment was quickly resolved after the beta for Version 5.5 began in earnest.
The ability kits for Varesa and Iansan in Genshin Impact are not only synergistic, but fairly powerful in their own right. Whereas the former is poised to become a unique Plunge hypercarry, the latter has the potential to finally dethrone Bennett in certain team compositions. Given that both Iansan and Varesa have suffered no changes during beta testing thus far, many Genshin Impact players are optimistic that Varesa and Iansan will survive the beta cycle and emerge as powerful characters.
Genshin Impact Leaks 4-Star Banner Characters for Version 5.5
The latest beta build for Genshin Impact reveals which 4-Star characters will accompany Varesa, Xianyun, Xilonen, and Venti in Version 5.5.
While footage of Varesa is already spreading across social media, HoYoverse has formally introduced the upcoming 5-star on Reddit via Genshin Impact's official account. Described as Iansan's pupil, Varesa in Genshin Impact is an orchard owner and stalwart warrior of the Collective of Plenty. She bears an Electro Vision and uses a Catalyst in combat. As a result, her moveset is very physical and is inspired by the luchadoras of Mexico.
Genshin Impact: Who is Varesa?
- Name: Varesa
- Title: Strength in Serenity
- Rarity: 5-star
- Vision: Electro
- Weapon: Catalyst
- Constellation: Mascara Luctatori
Players will be able to meet Varesa in Version 5.5 by completing the Tribal Chronicles for the Collective of Plenty. While there is a chance that she will appear in the Flagship Event as well, not much is known beyond it being set in Natlan. It's important to mention that Varesa in Genshin Impact will likely feature in the first half of the Event Banners. As such, players who may want the new 5-star should be careful with their Primogem spending during the Furina and Wriothesley phase in Version 5.4.
From a gameplay standpoint, Varesa is expected to be one of the strongest Electro hypercarries, especially with Furina, Iansan, and Xianyun as her teammates. Her Signature Weapon is Vivid Notions, but a Skyward Atlas is a notable alternative for players who may choose not to pull on the upcoming Weapon Banner in Genshin Impact. Version 5.5 is expected to launch on March 28, 2025, but fans will be able to find out more about Varesa in the coming weeks via her story teaser and character demo.
