The next update to Genshin Impact will add a trio of new characters to the popular Genius Invokation TCG game mode, including a pair of popular cast members from Fontaine. The trading card game within the HoYoverse RPG has seen plenty of new updates since it was first introduced in Version 3.3. Each patch has typically added new Character Cards, new Action and Event Cards, and a variety of different ways for players to experience the Genshin Impact TCG. Now, HoYoverse is getting ready to roll out its next batch of Character Cards.
The addition of new Character Cards in Version 4.8 follows a sizable update to the game mode during Genshin Impact's Version 4.7. The update saw more than 30 new cards brought into Genius Invokation TCG, including Character Cards based on popular cast members like Wriothesley, Furina, and Yun Jin among others. Version 4.7 also added a new variation of the "Heated Battle" mode, granting players 4 Omni Dice with plenty of flexibility to play their strongest cards. The next update will cap off the Fontaine cycle with three new characters for the TCG.
Genshin Impact Reveals Upcoming Skins for Nilou and Kirara
Genshin Impact is showing off the newest skins coming to the game in Version 4.8, featuring both Nilou and Kirara with new looks.
A new post from Genshin Impact's official social media accounts is showcasing the three new characters coming to Genius Invokation TCG with Version 4.8. Two members of Genshin Impact's playable cast will be joining the TCG during the update, with both Chevreuse and Navia becoming playable. Chevreuse will act as a powerful support for decks focused around Overload, creating "Overcharged Ball" cards and boosting Pyro and Electro damage. Navia will similarly benefit Crystallize decks, creating damage-dealing "Crystal Shrapnel" cards when inflicting Crystallize damage.
Genshin Impact Introduces 3 New TCG Character Cards for Version 4.8

Alongside Genshin Impact's normally playable characters, Version 4.8 will introduce a new enemy as a Character Card. The Frost Operative, first introduced in the Fontaine region, will be added as a Cryo Character Card, with a basic Normal Attack and Elemental Skill dealing Physical and Cryo damage, respectively. The Frost Operative will also play around the Bond of Life mechanic, attaching "Bond of Life" status to enemies hit by the Operative and inflicting Piercing damage with the Frost Operative's Ultimate. All three Character Cards will debut with Genshin Impact's Version 4.8, launching on July 17.
Genius Invokation TCG cards are far from the only new content coming to Genshin Impact with Version 4.8. The July update will introduce Genshin Impact's newest limited-time area with the mysterious Simulanka, with a full event story centered around the area. The update is also set to add the newest character skins to Genshin Impact, with skins for both Nilou and Kirara coming during Version 4.8. Genshin Impact's Version 4.8 is set to be a grand sendoff for Fontaine with new places to explore, new skins, and multiple reasons to dive back into Genius Invokation TCG.
