Genshin Impact has officially revealed two new Artifact sets coming to the game with the launch of the Natlan region later this week in Version 5.0. With just a few days left until the highly-anticipated release of the HoYoverse RPG's sixth playable region, the developer has given fans plenty of reasons to be excited. Natlan will see the addition of three new characters with its launch update, a plethora of new Genshin Impact weapons between the gacha banner and craftable weapons, and plenty more. Now, a pair of new Artifact sets are being showcased by HoYoverse.
Genshin Impact's Artifacts are one of the main ways for players to optimize their characters, providing a wealth of unique buffs catered to specific characters. Each new character added to Genshin Impact typically receives an Artifact set geared towards their playstyle within one to two patches of their release. HoYoverse has also released a plethora of Artifact sets providing generic buffs, boosting everything from Elemental and Physical Damage to defensive stats. The new sets coming to Genshin Impact will now benefit the game's newest mechanic.
Genshin Impact officially revealed the two newest Artifact sets coming to the game Sunday morning, with just days remaining until their launch. The "Obsidian Codex" set will benefit Genshin Impact's newest mechanic, with the two-piece version increasing characters' damage when in Nightsoul Blessing and the four-piece increasing Crit Rate. "Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City" regenerates Energy when consuming Nightsoul points for its two-piece bonus and while the four-piece set boosts Elemental Damage bonuses when triggering reactions, with the buff increased when in Nightsoul Blessing.

Obsidian Codex
- 2-Piece Set: While the equipping character is in Nightsoul's Blessing and is on the field, their DMG dealt is increased by 15%
- 4-Piece Set: After the equipping character consumes 1 Nightsoul point while on the field, CritRate increases by 40% for 6 seconds. This effect can trigger once every second.
Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City
- 2-Piece Set: When a nearby party member triggers a Nightsoul Burst, the equipping character regenerates 6 Elemental Energy
- 4-Piece Set: After the equipping character triggers a reaction related to their Elemental Type, all nearby party members gain a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elemental Types involved in the elemental reaction for 15 seconds. If the equipping character is in the Nightsoul's Blessing state when triggering this effect, all nearby party members gain an additional 28% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elemental Types involved in the elemental reaction for 20 seconds. The equipping character can trigger this effect while off-field, and the DMG bonus from Artifact Sets with the same name do not stack.
Both new Artifact sets will provide unique bonuses for players utilizing Natlan characters and the game's newest mechanic. Players can activate the Nightsoul Blessing state by dealing Elemental Damage, with Natlan's new characters gaining unique bonuses from the new mechanic. HoYoverse has already begun to reveal some of the new characters' abilities, recently detailing Kachina's kit with her Elemental Skill making use of Nightsoul Blessing. Both Artifact sets will release with new Domains in Version 5.0, scheduled to launch on August 28.
The addition of new Artifacts to Genshin Impact comes alongside an exciting new change for the Artifact system. HoYoverse revealed a new feature for the Artifact system referred to as "Sanctifying Elixir," allowing players to create new Artifacts with player-chosen main and sub-stats. Fans of Genshin Impact will also gain more rewards for dismantling Artifacts following the update, with Artifacts now granting EXP material after being destroyed.
