HoYoverse has revealed new details about the events arriving during the first phase of Genshin Impact Version 5.0, which is set to release on August 28. During the first phase, Genshin Impact players will have a chance to pull some of Natlan's new characters and earn several free rewards, including Primogems.
HoYoverse became one of most well-known developers in the world after the monumental launch of Genshin Impact in September 2020. The game continues to pull millions of players into Tevyat each month, thanks to monthly updates and a regular stream of unique events. Genshin Impact Version 5.0, the game's next major update, will introduce new playable characters, open the long-awaited Natlan region, and continue the Archon Quest.
Genshin Impact Reveals Unexpected Emilie and Yelan Sales Difference
A Genshin Impact chart reveals the sales difference between the two currently featured five-star characters, Emilie and Yelan.
On Twitter, HoYoverse shared its upcoming slate of events for Genshin Impact Version 5.0 phase 1, which includes the previously revealed Event Wishes featuring five-star characters Mualani and Kaedehara Kazuha. Alongside the character banners, Genshin Impact players may choose a free five-star character of their choosing from the Wanderlust Invocation Event Wish during the "A Quest to Kindle Ancient Flames" event. The "Turbo Twirly!" Event will also be active when Version 5.0 launches, allowing players to add the new four-star character Kachina to their party for free. An all-new event called "Traces of Artistry" will be active until September 16 with limited-time challenges that may be completed to earn free Primogems, the new Ash-Graven Drinking Horn catalyst, and Crown of Insight materials.
New Genshin Impact Version 5.0 Details Revealed Ahead Of August 28 Launch

Genius Invokation TCG will receive two limited-time events in Version 5.0: "The Forge Realm's Temper: Game of Wits" and "Heated Battle Mode: Sprinting Stratagems." The former will be available throughout the entirety of Version 5.0's duration, while Heated Battle Mode will be available from September 7 to September 23. Completing stage challenges and duels will net players various rewards, including Lucky Coins.
One of the most rewarding events, "Gift for a New Horizon: A Thank-You Gift," will arrive near the end of phase 1 on September 28. Genshin Impact players can earn up to 1,600 Primogems, along with additional rewards, for simply logging into the game for four consecutive days. This event will be active until the very end of Version 5.0. Before the event arrives, players may earn 1,000 free Primogems in Genshin Impact by logging in between August 26 and August 30.
Genshin Impact Version 5.1 is expected to be released sometime in early October and will add the highly-anticipated character, Xilonen. Fortunately, the first and second phases of Genshin Impact Version 5.0 should ensure that players have enough Primogems to potentially summon Xilonen in Version 5.1 if they decide to save up every Primogem they earn throughout September.
