The Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region in Genshin Impact was originally deserted after being largely destroyed in an explosion long ago. Because of the explosion, multiple Allogravity-Condensed Water Bodies materialized and can be seen floating in the air.
Despite the looming danger, exploring the ruins proves fruitful, as numerous treasure chests are concealed in both exposed and hidden locations. Aside from the Primogems that can be obtained from the chests, Travelers can also obtain them by offering Hydroculus in the sub-area to the Statue of the Seven in Fontaine. In total, there are 40 Hydroculus to be collected in the Fontaine Research Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering Region.

Teleport to the waypoint north of the Experimental Field Generator boss and head southwest towards a teleportation bubble. It will bring you to the top of the hill for the Hydroculus.

From the previous spot, head to the ruin on the north, and you can find a Hydroculus below a stone slab.

Teleport to the previous waypoint, and this time, head south until you reach the Experimental Field Generator boss. In the ruins, climb on the side of the building to get the Hydroculus.

Keep going south until you see a tall tower. Then, glide to the Hydroculus at the highest point of the tower from the top of the mountain.

Use the teleport waypoint southeast of the Experimental Field Generator boss. Then, walk south a little to see a Hydroculus on top of a pedestal behind a barrier. You need to find 2 nearby Seelies to remove the barrier.

From the previous spot, head west and enter the hole in the ground to reach a locked door. You need to get an item called Arkhium Lumenite to unlock the door and get the Hydroculus within.

From the previous spot, leave the hidden room and head northeast towards a small abandoned ruin. The Hydroculus can be seen on top of the pillar.

On that high ground, walk west and jump down to the top of the building for the Hydroculus on the roof.

Climb back to the mountain and head west to the tall building next to the Experimental Field Generator boss. Use the building to jump on the broken highway and proceed until the end to get the Hydroculus.

Reverse back and glide down to the next Hydroculus on the broken highway.

Glide to the next broken highway on the west and continue walking on top of it to reach the top.

Now, teleport to the waypoint east of the Statue of the Seven in this region. Then, head southeast towards a small house. You can find the Hydroculus on top of the house.

Return to the waypoint and head west towards a demolished wall to get the Oculus behind it.

From the previous spot, dive into the water and swim east to find a breakable stone on the seafloor. Find a nearby Xenochromatic Jellyfish's Ability and use it to explode the stone and open a hidden underwater ruin. Swim further inside to get the Hydroculus.

Continue exploring the underwater ruin, and you will start a hidden 'Treacherous Light of the Depths' quest. While completing the quest, you can access another Hydorculus in the ruin.

Once again, teleport to the waypoint east of the Statue of the Seven and head north towards a huge Hilichurl camp. At the center, there is a machinery of sorts, and you can find the Hydroculus between the claws of the machine.

Go to the Statue of the Seven in Fontaine Research Institute and glide north to the highway. Then, carefully walk on the broken highway to get the Hydroculus.

Now, teleport to the Central Laboratory Ruins waypoints and enter the Condensed Water Body right in front of you. Inside the water cube, swim straight to the window in the ruins to get the Hydroculus.

Return to the previous waypoint and hop over to the top of the Condensed Water Body in front of you. From here, climb the floating debris to reach the Hydroculus at the highest area.

From the previous spot, glide east to reach a highway and walk to the end to get the Oculus.

Use the Central Laboratory Ruins waypoints once again and dive in the water at the bottom to see an Echoing Conch in front of a ruin. Near the Echoing Conch is a Xenochromatic Blubberbeast's ability, and you can use the ability to hit the crystal inside the locked gate. This will unlock the gate, and you can swim further inside to reach the Hydroculus.

Return to the previous waypoint and head north before jumping down to the floating highway. From here, walk until the end to reach the Hydroculus.
