Many Genshin Impact players longed for a Catalyst character with a Cryo Vision before Wriothesley arrives in version 4.1. However, while the warden of the Fortress of Meropide in Genshin Impact uses this weapon to enhance his stat, he mainly uses his fist to deal damage in combat.
Genshin Impact Redeem Codes
Genshin Impact redeem codes commonly come with Primogems rewards that aid in players’ gacha experience.
Wriothesley relies on Normal Attack to deal damage, and Charged Attack to keep him alive on the battlefield. Here are some of the best Wriothesley weapons in Genshin Impact that players can consider if they got the Duke from his limited banner.
8 Ballad of the Boundless Blue
- Primary Stat: 565 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 30.6% Energy Recharge
- R5 Effect: Within 6s after Normal or Charged Attacks hit an opponent, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 16% and Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 12%. Max 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s.
Ballad of the Boundless Blue is a free Catalyst from Genshin Impact 4.1 Waterborne Poetry Event. It increases Normal and Charged Attack DMG, and the Energy Recharge sub-stat is pretty good too since Wriothesley deals decent damage with his Elemental Burst.
7 Frostbearer
- Primary Stat: 510 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 41.3% ATK
- R5 Effect: Hitting an opponent with Normal and Charged Attacks has a 100% chance of forming and dropping an Everfrost Icicle above them, dealing AoE DMG equal to 140% of ATK. Opponents affected by Cryo are instead dealt DMG equal to 360% of ATK. Can only occur once every 10s.
Frostbearer has existed for almost as long as Genshin Impact itself, but it’s forgotten as no Catalyst character was able to use it. Now that a Cryo Catalyst is available, this forgeable weapon in Genshin Impact can finally see some light. However, there are some things people need to consider before getting this weapon for the prison warden, like:
- R5 Frostbearer is below R5 Ballad of the Boundless Blue in single-target case.
- R5 Frostbearer is better than R5 Eye of Perception and Tulaytullah's Remembrance if there are at least 4 enemies when the passive triggers.
Genshin Impact: Hardest Bosses (& How To Beat Them)
Genshin Impact is packed with tough bosses and enemies. Here are the strongest of the bunch, and how to emerge victorious when fighting them.
So the more enemies there are in the AoE when the Everfrost Icicle drops, the better this Catalyst will do. This means Wriothesley should only use Frostbearer if he’s fighting a horde of enemies and there’s a Crowd Control to group them together.
6 Eye of Perception
- Primary Stat: 454 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 55.1% ATK
- R5 Effect: Normal and Charged Attacks have a 50% chance to fire a Bolt of Perception, dealing 360% ATK as DMG. This bolt can bounce between opponents a maximum of 4 times. This effect can occur once every 8s.
Eye of Perception is surprisingly good for Wriothesley, especially when he’s fighting a group of enemies. Similar to Frostbearer, if he’s fighting a horde of monsters while holding R5 Eye of Perception, his damage can outperform Tulaytullah's Remembrance, but will still be under Cashflow Supervision. Unlike Frostbearer, though, the damage from Eye of Perception can bounce to enemies outside the initial AoE, so it’s slightly more reliable.
However, in a single-target case, R5 Eye of Perception performs below other options like R5 Ballad of the Boundless Blue, so players should only use this Catalyst if they’re fighting a group of enemies.
5 Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% Crit Rate
- R1 Effect: Increases Movement SPD by 10%. When in battle, gain an 8% Elemental DMG Bonus every 4s. Max 4 stacks. Lasts until the character falls or leaves combat.
Lost Prayer to the Sacred Winds is often shrugged off since its passive demands the wielder to stay on-field, but since Wriothesley does just that, he can fare well with this Catalyst.
Genshin Impact: Subdetection Unit Location
Subdetection Unit is a unique local specialty in Genshin Impact that reacts when it gets hit.
Unlike ATK-granting weapons that suffer when ATK buffers are involved in the team, Lost Prayer doesn’t face this issue and can often surpass Memory of Dust and Skyward Atlas in these situations. However, even though that’d be the case with Wriothesley, the Crit Rate sub-stat may end up being too much, so players should focus on getting Crit DMG on their Artifacts if they wish to use this Catalyst.
4 Memory of Dust
- Primary Stat: 608 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 49.6% ATK
- R1 Effect: Increases Shield Strength by 20%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, this ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.
Memory of Dust is very situational, and it requires building up, but at full-stack with a Genshin Impact shielder, Wriothesley can greatly benefit from this weapon. However, keep in mind that too much ATK may lead to a diminishing return if players decide to bring ATK buffers like Bennett into the team.
3 Skyward Atlas
- Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 33.1% ATK
- R1 Effect: Increases Elemental DMG Bonus by 12%. Normal Attack hits have a 50% chance to earn the favor of the clouds, which actively seek out nearby opponents to attack for 15s, dealing 160% ATK DMG. Can only occur once every 30s.
Skyward Atlas is slightly better than Memory of Dust because it gives Elemental DMG Bonus on its passive and the occasional damage can stack up nicely. However, similar to Memory of Dust, this Catalyst can face a diminishing return when there are other sources of ATK.
2 Tulaytullah's Remembrance
- Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 44.1% Crit DMG
- R1 Effect: Normal Attack SPD is increased by 10%. After the wielder unleashes an Elemental Skill, Normal Attack DMG will increase by 4.8% every second for 14s. After hitting an opponent with a Normal Attack during this duration, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 9.6%. This increase can be triggered once every 0.3s. The maximum Normal Attack DMG increase per single duration of the overall effect is 48%. The effect will be removed when the wielder leaves the field, and using the Elemental Skill again will reset all DMG buffs.
Wanderer’s best weapon in Genshin Impact, Tulaytullah's Remembrance, is surprisingly excellent for Wriothesley. Besides the high base ATK and Crit DMG boost, it enhances Normal Attack SPD, perfect for a unit that relies on Normal Attack like the Duke. Additionally, Wriothesley must use his Elemental Skill as it enhances his Normal Attack DMG, so the next passive also fits like a glove for him.
1 Cashflow Supervision
- Primary Stat: 674 Base ATK
- Secondary Stat: 22.1% Crit Rate
- R1 Effect: ATK is increased by 16%. When current HP increases or decreases, Normal Attack DMG will be increased by 16% and Charged Attack DMG will be increased by 14% for 4s. Max 3 stacks. This effect can be triggered once every 0.3s. When the wielder has 3 stacks, ATK SPD will be increased by 8%.
Cashflow Supervision has a high base ATK like Tulaytullah's Remembrance, but it has a Crit Rate sub-stat instead of Crit DMG. With this Catalyst, Wriothesley will have a basic stat of 27.1% Crit Rate, which means players will only need a little more Crit Rate from Artifact sub-stats if they’re using four-piece Blizzard Strayer or four-piece Marechaussee Hunter.
