Genshin Impact has officially revealed that Xilonen will be joining the cast in Version 5.1 as a 5-Star Geo character. Many claims have been made about Xilonen since her debut in the Ignition teaser, and it's fair to say that she is one of the most anticipated characters of the Natlan era. Touted as a universal support for Geo, Xilonen is more than just a flashy design, as the community in Genshin Impact sees her becoming a permanent fixture in many Spiral Abyss teams.
Though there is always the possibility that Genshin Impact will nerf Xilonen's ability kit on the way to release, the current iteration shows a lot of promise. Provided no drastic changes are made to Xilonen, she is expected to join the upper echelon of characters such as Neuvillette, Alhaitham, Furina, and Kazuha in terms of power. At her core, Xilonen provides different buffs to party members based on their Element, provides Elemental Shred, and her Skill turns her into a jaguar that can scale cliffs.
Genshin Impact kicked off her drip marketing on August 26, 2024, which confirms that Xilonen will make her first appearance on the Event Banners in Version 5.1. The official post on Twitter also makes reference to her skill as a blacksmith, as well as her professional and upfront personality. Given that no other Genshin Impact character was introduced alongside Xilonen, she will be the sole addition to the playable cast in Version 5.1, which certainly lines up with earlier leaks.

With Xilonen being the only Natlan character to feature in Version 5.1, players will have the chance to stock up on Primogems for Mavuika if they decide to skip the Nanatzcayan Smith. However, those that truly want Xilonen should consider getting her second Constellation or Signature Weapon, as either will provide a major stat increase for the overall team. While it remains to be seen which Artifact Set will suit Xilonen best, Genshin Impact will introduce two new Artifact Sets in Version 5.0 that focus on the new Nightsoul's Blessing mechanic.
Though it remains to be seen who will accompany Xilonen on the Event Banners in Version 5.1, the 5-Star waiting list in Genshin Impact implies that Shenhe is long overdue for a rerun. Given her role as an offensive Geo support, it's also likely that Zhongli will headline one of the halves in Version 5.1, as players will likely want either Zhongli or Xilonen on their team – depending on their needs.
