Many games that receive DLC nowadays also get a list of new trophies for players to collect. With Sucker Punch releasing the Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut, players can grind out more achievements in the Iki Island DLC. This DLC adds a new story for players to enjoy and two trophy lists: story and exploration.
Ghost of Tsushima: The Impact of Loss - Which Hostage Should You Save
Players face a choice at the conclusion of Ghost of Tsushima's The Impact of Loss Side Tale, and this guide will help them make it.
One of the hardest trophies to get in Ghost of Tsushima is the 'Common Courtesy' one, which deals with discovering all the hidden tales across Iki Island. There is a reason it calls these tales hidden. They are hard to find unless players know where to look.
Updated September 20, 2024, by Michael Llewellyn: The Iki Island expansion features one of the most challenging trophies to achieve in Ghost of Tsushima. Despite the quests not being marked on the map, the path to unlocking the trophy was plagued by bugs. Thanks to several patches, these are less challenging and no longer require the online aspect to complete. This guide is updated to include the mask as a reward and the requirements thanks to the game's updates.
First Unwritten Tale - A Proper Burial
The first of the hidden tales that players may come across on their journey across Iki Island is near where players first arrive on the island:
- After a horrific shipwreck, Jin stumbles ashore to find his horse missing.
- Players should follow the northern coast to the east to discover what's left of the ship scattered about on the beach.
- Among the wreckage, players will discover the remains of the ship's captain. Interacting with his remains will allow players to give him a proper burial with a pile of rocks and a flag.
Second Unwritten Tale - Help The Beekeeper
- Go to the western side of Iki Island, near the Shattered Cliffs, south of Old Gambler's Woods, and find a beekeeper.
- He has been having trouble with the Mongols, upsetting his beekeeping. Jin may say the beekeeper should move the bees, but he can't.
Ghost of Tsushima: All the Iki Island Easter Eggs
Sucker Punch's recreation of Iki island within Ghost of Tsushima: Director's Cut features a number of sneaky PlayStation themed Easter eggs.
- As expected, the Mongols arrive on the scene, and Jin must fend off the Mongols as the beekeeper takes shelter.
- After the Mongols are taken care of, the beekeeper will be thankful, and Jin's duty and the unwritten tale will be complete.
Third Unwritten Tale - Buddha's Footprints Rescue
- In the southern section of Iki Island, Jin must locate an area called Buddha's Footprints.
- Within this area, players can find a smaller lake with a mound surrounded by a ring of rocks.
- In this location, Jin will find a group of Mongols trying to drown a group of peasants.
- Rescue the peasants by taking out the Mongols.
- After the battle, a short cutscene will play to complete the tale.
Fourth Unwritten Tale - Heal The Land
- Jin will now journey to the center of Iki Island, east of Lake Nagata and north of Senjo Gorge.
- He will discover a burned house in the forest.
- Interact with the flag at the house to trigger a short cutscene where Kodama talks to Jin. It turns out that Jin's father burned down this house years ago.
Ghost of Tsushima: All Iki Island Pillar of Honor Locations (& What They Unlock)
The Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut has introduced new Pillars of Honor for players to find. Here's where they are, and the rewards they offer.
- Jin must now help Kodama. Follow her until a drumbeat starts to play.
- There are Mongols nearby. Take care of the Mongols, and Kodama will begin to laugh.
- Head back to the house to finish the tale and collect the items that Kodama has left behind.
Fifth Unwritten Tale - Raider Memorial Archery Challenge
While there are plenty of Archery Challenges for players to complete across Iki Island, only one of them won't appear on the map. Players should use the Wind of Concentration from the map menu to track this Archery Challenge down, but players who want a more direct approach will be able to find it in the south of Iki Island.
- Below Buddha's Footprints, down by the coast, players will be able to find a memorial to fallen raiders.
- Jin needs to talk to the raide r next to the bow stand in this location.
- He will mention Tadayori.
- Equip the Tadayori's Armor from the Gear menu and talk to the raider again to begin the Archery Challenge.
Tadayori's Armor is unlocked after completing The Legend of Tadayori, a Mythical Tale in Ghost of Tsushima's base game.
- Now, beat the Archery challenge in less than 22 seconds to complete the tale.

Sixth Unwritten Tale - Tell The Legend of The Fire Spirits
Starting from patch 2.10 in late 2021, it is no longer necessary to finish the online-only Legends story mode to obtain the Common Courtesy Trophy. However, if you wish to acquire the White Kitsune Mask from Uta, you must complete the sixth Unwritten Tale in Ghost of Tsushima.
- The final Unwritten Tale is past Yahata Forest on the east side of Iki Island,
- This unwritten tale connects to the Ghost of Tsushima Legends mode.
- The Legends mode is the multiplayer portion of the game.
- The Legends mode has a storyline complete with missions. Once the Legends missions are complete, Jin can pursue the final Unwritten Tale on Iki Island.
- The story in the Legends Mode must be complete before going any further.
- Back on Iki Island's campaign, Jin should travel north of Zasho Bay to discover a house.
- Inside this house, a woman wants to hear the end of the Legend of the Fire Spirits tale told by Gyozen (the same Gyozen from legends mode).
- Avoid talking to her before completing the Legends mode story because they won't be able to converse with her again.
- After completing this tale and all the others, players will obtain the White Kitsune Mask as a reward.
