Speak To Kashira to Hear the Story of Black Hand Riku

Ghost of Tsushima Jin speaking to Kashira

After completing the Ghost of Tsushima story quest “A Raider’s Return,” Jin can explore the refuge, and upgrade his armor, weapons, and outfits. A storyteller named Kashira can be heard telling tales of Black Hand Riku to a crowd of listeners around a campfire. Speak to him, and he will delve deeper into Riku and the cursed Sarugami Armor. Kashira tells Jin to seek out a mutineer called Minato for more information on the location of Riku’s armor. To find her, Jin must travel to Mount Takenotsuji.

Find Minato At Mount Takenotsuji

Ghost of Tsushima Jin rescuing Minato

Leave Fune’s Refuge through the gate at the entrance and check the map. If Jin explored the map before entering the Refuge, he may have stumbled upon the empty home of Sao, the Crimson Dye Merchant. Use this as the nearest fast travel point and head to the southeast area of Mount Takenotsuji marked on the map.

If Jin has to fight the Eagle’s Mongolian soldiers, kill the Shaman first.

Approach Minato’s camp slowly, as it is overrun with Mongols working for The Eagle. Either defeat the enemies head-on, or sneak behind them and assassinate them one-by-one. No matter which method you use, ensure that the captured Minato doesn’t die. Free Minato, and she will tell Jin to find the glowing water on the North-Eastern Coast.

Locate The Entrance Of The Mysterious Cave

Check the map and take Jin to the Thunderhead Cliffs to look for the glowing water. Search the area until Jin finds an area with monkeys roaming around, a ramp board, and a grapple point attached to a tree branch.

ump off the board, activate the grapple hook, and drop into the glowing water below. Follow the stream north until Jin reaches the beach area with the Mysterious Cave.

Explore The Mysterious Cave

Enter the Mysterious Cave and grab the Flaming Arrows. The Mysterious Cave has unlimited Flaming Arrows for players to use to light the pampas grass braziers inside the dark cave.

Jin can use the Flaming Arrow as a torch by aiming the bow without firing.

Follow the path ahead, and when prompted, use the grappling hook to break the bamboo that’s blocking Jin’s path. Continue through the cave and explore it for supplies and more Flaming Arrows. The path is linear, and has a few dead ends filled with supplies and iron.

Ghost Of Tsushima: 12 Hardest Duels, Ranked

Ghost Of Tsushima features some of the best blade-to-blade combat in all of gaming, with duels that are both exhilarating and difficult.

Defeat Black Hand Riku In A Duel

Ghost of Tsushima the duel against Black Hand Riku

Black Hand Riku challenges Jin to a duel to the death, and he’s one of the trickiest fights in Ghost of Tsushima. He can hit Jin with unblockable red attacks, so it’s a good idea to roll and dodge at least three times in a row if he sheaths his sword. Parry and sidestep his blue attacks, then hit him twice, back away, and use heal if he’s taken a few hits. Don’t get overzealous with attacks, as he can counter Jin with his own attacks.

After the battle, Jin will be rewarded with the Saragamu Armor. Exit the area by following the guiding wind to a small crack in the cave walls, where Kashira and his men will be waiting for Jin.

Defeat Kashira And His Men

Ghost of Tsushima Kashiro betrays Jin for the armour

The storyteller at Fume’s Refuge will be waiting for Jin outside the cave to claim the Saragamu Armor for himself. A defiant Jin will trigger a fight against the treacherous Kashira and put the cursed Saragamu Armor through its paces. The armor will boost Jin’s perfect parry, opening up two counterattacks. The regular parry is disabled, but a perfect dodge will damage nearby enemies. The robbers shouldn’t give Jin too much trouble. Just focus on parrying the swordsmen and dodging the spearmen. Once you finish the fight, you will have one of the best armor sets in Ghost of Tsushima if you learn how to counter with a perfect parry.

Ghost of Tsushima Sarugami Armor fully upgraded

The Sarugami Armor can be upgraded at Fune's Refuge. A fully upgraded Sarugami Armor will counter Jin's enemies with a chain of three attacks, and the perfect dodge will blind nearby enemies. The windows to land a perfect dodge and parry are increased significantly, and the resolve gained is increased by a massive amount, according to the in-game description.
