PlayStation has shared more details regarding Ghost of Yotei's camping system, which will provide players with a lot of possibilities for meeting allies and gaining temporary perks. There has been a lot of hype surrounding the quickly approaching launch of Ghost of Yotei, and the various features of the camping system could add a touch of additional realism to Atsu's journey through early Edo period northern Japan.
Sucker Punch Productions' Ghost of Tsushima was a huge success for the studio. The epic action-adventure title became the seventh-best-selling game in the United States in its release year of 2020, and it currently stands as Sucker Punch's best-selling game in the company's 27-year history. After its positive reception at launch, a Ghost of Tsushima sequel was obvious to many fans, and now, many of those same fans are eagerly awaiting Ghost of Yotei's PlayStation 5-exclusive release on October 2.

Ghost of Yotei Devs Offer More Camping Details
A new post on PlayStation's official Twitter page goes into more detail about one of Ghost of Yotei' s most exciting new additions, providing a deeper look into how setting up camp in the wilderness can aid Atsu on her journey. As long as her steed is nearby, Atsu will be able to set up camp in any part of the wilderness of Ezo, lighting campfires via a gameplay system that will require players to master the art of striking flint and blowing on flames to increase their strength. The campfire mechanic will allow players to gain temporary perks by roasting and eating different varieties of food, with both fish and mushrooms shown off in the newest reveal.
However, gaining temporary boosts won't be its only function. A State of Play presentation in July confirmed that Atsu will be able to meet a variety of Ghost of Yotei characters who will be attracted by the light of her campfire, and the new post from PlayStation provides a slightly closer look at what kinds of interactions players can expect. Past comments from the game's development staff have noted that some helpful NPCs like blacksmiths and merchants may visit, eliminating the need to constantly run back and forth between settled areas to resupply, and the new post states that visitors may also offer items or advice to Atsu.
Keeping with the realism of the game, not all characters attracted by the campfire's glow will be friendly, so players may need to make use of Ghost of Yotei's combat system even at camp. In addition to these features, the new post also addresses some other previously revealed features of the camping system, including the ability to play music or craft ammunition for ranged weapons.
