PlayStation has updated the official Ghost of Yotei website, giving fans the latest information about characters, weapons, and features. News about Ghost of Yotei has been rolling out all summer, keeping players on their toes for the next update.
Recently, developer Sucker Punch Productions highlighted a variety of upcoming features, including the Watanabe Mode that allows players to listen to lo-fi hip hop tracks in Ghost of Yotei. Sucker Punch even teased two tracks that are already available to listen to on streaming platforms. One of the tracks, “The Yotei Six,” may have been a precursor to PlayStation’s recent update.

Ghost of Yotei Characters, Weapons, and Features Revealed
PlayStation updated the Ghost of Yotei website to show some of the new characters, weapons, and PS5 features that fans can look forward to at launch. Names and character art for The Yotei Six give players their first look at the targets for Atsu, the game’s protagonist. Five melee weapons and three range weapon options provide a taste of combat that will be used in the game. Each weapon serves a specific purpose, so players will need to keep a variety in their arsenal for well-rounded play. Atsu will be able to evolve her weapon-specific techniques as well as learn core abilities including disarming enemies, mounted tackles, and using her wolf companion in battle.

- Katana – Precise and balanced, well-suited to duels with rival Sword users.

- Yari – Long-range control that interrupts attacks and counters Sickle-wielding enemies.

PlayStation previously announced that it would be releasing special edition PS5 consoles for Ghost of Yotei. Players can expect to see sharp visuals, fast load times thanks to the PS5’s SSD drive, and adaptive triggers in the DualSense Wireless Controller, providing a more immersive experience.
PlayStation’s website has not released the dates for the special edition console, which will also include special edition DualSense Wireless Controllers and console covers that current PS5 owners can purchase for the consoles. The console shells did upset some fans, as the original PS5 will not have Ghost of Yotei plates. The covers will only be available for the PS5 Slim and PS5 Pro.
Sucker Punch is working hard to bring an enjoyable open world experience to Ghost of Yotei. Some Ghost of Tsushima players thought that the open world was a bit lacking and in some cases tedious. Sucker Punch creative director Nate Fox wants to make sure that players aren’t experiencing the same game. Fans can look forward to features like the clue card system to help track branching options in Atsu’s adventures, as well as new mini-games. They’ll also be able to customize their play style with modes that pay tribute to Japanese filmmakers.
