A Nintendo Switch port of Goat Simulator 3 may be in the pipeline. That's according to a recently surfaced retailer listing that suggests the wacky open-world game is coming to Nintendo's hybrid console in November 2024.
Developed by Sweden-based Coffee Stain Studios, Goat Simulator 3 had a hilarious reveal in June 2022 before releasing on the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and mobile devices five months later. Keeping in line with its wacky premise, the game's very name is a joke, as it implies the existence of Goat Simulator 2, which doesn't actually exist.
Amazon Japan Leaks Goat Simulator 3 Switch Port
An Amazon Japan page dedicated to the Switch version of Goat Simulator 3 went live in early August 2024. The listing, first spotted by Nintendo Everything, suggests that Coffee Stain's wacky action-adventure is scheduled to reach the Switch on November 7. The page mentioned both physical and digital versions of the game, but has since been pulled. The purported Switch port will be published by Plaion, an Embracer Group subsidiary formerly known as Koch Media, as per the same source.
If this recently spotted listing is legitimate, then the Switch is set to receive Goat Simulator 3 just ten days shy of the game's second anniversary. For reference, the original game took nearly half a decade to get ported to the Switch, having only reached Nintendo's console in January 2019. And while its slapstick gameplay helped elevate it to a meme status, Goat Simulator was reviewed rather poorly. Its sequel did much better on this front, with many reviewers praising Goat Simulator 3 for its massive open world, ridiculous quests, elaborate customization, and highly entertaining multiplayer, among other qualities.
The Amazon Japan listing also suggested that the Switch version of the game will come with the Digital Downgrade DLC. This add-on was originally released alongside Goat Simulator 3 itself, promising players "random goat garbage" like additional costumes and a digital version of the game's soundtrack for an extra $10. The base version of Goat Simulator 3 retails for $29.99, which is presumably how much its prospective Switch version would cost, as well. On a related note, Nintendo gamers can currently pick up the Switch version of the original game at an 80% discount, bringing its price down to $5.99, until August 12.
This premature listing is not the first Goat Simulator leak to emerge online in recent days. Back in late July, a Taiwanese regulator published a rating for Goat Simulator Remastered, suggesting that a modernized version of the 2014 game is on its way to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
