With Godzilla Destroys the Universe Issue 2 now on sale, The Best War Games can exclusively reveal two covers of the miniseries' final comic book. Both designs feature Godzilla towering over its surroundings, with one of them depicting it facing off against Marvel Mecha. According to an official synopsis of the comic book provided by Marvel, this giant mech will be deployed by Black Panther over the course of the upcoming storyline.
Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe Issue #5 Covers
The busy cover also includes some of Marvel's most iconic superheroes: Spider-Man, Captain America, and Hulk. While Godzilla and Marvel Mecha are duking it out, the heroes will be trying to tip the scales of the conflict by taking advantage of the Kaiju's "mysterious relationship with vibranium," the official synopsis reads. The fictional metal has been prominently featured throughout Marvel comic books for many a year, having first appeared in Daredevil #13, released in 1966. Known for its unparalleled ability to absorb and store massive amounts of kinetic energy, the metal is most commonly encountered in storylines featuring Black Panther, as it is mined exclusively in the kingdom of Wakanda in Marvel lore.
The main and Virgin Variant covers for Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe #5 were authored by Orange Hulk co-creator Mark Brooks. Five additional designs are planned, including Dave Wachter’s Marvelized Carnage-Zilla variant and John Tyler Christopher’s Action Figure variant. Cory Smith will also contribute one yet-unnamed variant cover. Marvel has further confirmed that the issue will feature a "fan-favorite" variant cover, as well as another variant whose title and artist have not yet been disclosed.
The fifth issue of Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe is scheduled for release on November 19, 2025. In the meantime, Issue #3 and #4 will be published on September 24 and October 15, respectively. Like the first two comic books, the final three issues will be available both digitally and physically via Amazon and other licensed distributors. The digital versions of the comic books retail for $4.99 a piece, whereas their paperback counterparts have a $17.99 price tag attached to them. Regardless of how the storyline concludes in Issue #5, the official synopsis for the upcoming comic book states that the Marvel Universe "will never be the same" following Godzilla’s rampage.
