Goosebumps: The Game is scheduled for removal from sale on Steam on August 8. Released in October 2015, Goosebumps: The Game is a point-and-click horror experience that takes players on an adventure starring various monsters from the titular series of novels by R. L. Stine. Published by GameMill Entertainment, the game was released as a tie-in to the Goosebumps film released the same year, starring Jack Black as Stine.

Although Goosebumps: The Game released to mixed reviews in 2015, the point-and-click adventure is currently rated Very Positive on Steam with 223 reviews. Reviewers have expressed surprise at the game's polish, praising its graphics, puzzles, and sheer number of nostalgic callbacks to Stine's novels. Although many reviews note the game's short playtime, with some sharing that they managed to 100% complete the game in less than a day, some hardcore fans have called Goosebumps: The Game one of the best horror games of its era.

Goosebumps Season 2 Is Full On Body Horror (& I Love It)

Goosebumps season 2 stars David Schwimmer as a scientist dad, and I think the body horror scenes make it even scarier than season 1.

According to a product announcement on the game's Steam page, Goosebumps fans looking to experience the movie tie-in have until August 8 to add Goosebumps: The Game to their libraries before it's removed from the storefront. A similar announcement has not been made for the Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo storefronts. Goosebumps: The Game joins a number of games that have been removed from Steam, although the announcement does not specify why. Luckily, Steam users who purchase Goosebumps: The Game will continue to have access to the game after it's been delisted.

Goosebumps: The Game Is Being Delisted From Steam

The game's removal from Steam is likely due to the upcoming release of GameMill Entertainment's newest Goosebumps game, Goosebumps: Terror in Little Creek, which is scheduled for release on August 29. Although new Goosebumps games have been released since Goosebumps: The Game debuted in 2015, GameMill Entertainment specifically has a habit of delisting its older games to make way for new titles. For example, the publisher delisted 2016's Big Buck Hunter Arcade when Big Buck Hunter: Ultimate Trophy came to Steam in April 2025.

It is always a shame when games are made inaccessible through online storefronts. Although players who own the game will still have access, its removal from the store suddenly poses the threat of Goosebumps: The Game eventually becoming lost media. Hopefully Goosebumps: The Game will remain available through other storefronts, as it's one of the best horror games for kids and a great nostalgia trip for older generations.
