Gran Turismo 7 received a new update for May 2025. Identified by version number 1.59, this release expands the Gran Turismo 7 car fleet and introduces several new events, among other novelties.
Polyphony Digital's latest racing sim has been receiving regular content drops and quality-of-life patches since its March 2022 release. After rolling out Gran Turismo 7 PS5 Pro support in late 2024, the Japanese studio debuted four more updates between January and April 2025.
Every Gran Turismo Game, Ranked
The very best Gran Turismo games helped to define and redefine the racing sim genre, but some merely toed the line. Here, we rank every mainline game.
Following up on these releases, Polyphony Digital has now introduced the 1.59 update, which rolled out on Wednesday, May 14. As is the case with most of its content drops, the May patch introduces new Gran Turismo 7 cars, including the 2017 Ferrari 812 Superfast, a V12 supercar with a distinctive combination of a long nose and a short deck. The update also brings the 2001 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, a high-performance hardtop version of the C5 Corvette powered by a 405 BHP small-block engine.
Gran Turismo 7 1.59 Update Brings 4 New Cars, 3 World Circuit Events, and More
The 2021 Honda CR-V e:HEV EX Black Edition is also part of the newly released package. As an SUV, this hybrid model is closer to a Gran Turismo 7 starter car than a long-term racing option, with its weight and limited top speed being primarily suited for casual events and novelty races. The 1.59 update introduces something even less racing-oriented—the 2012 Suzuki Carry KC, an adorable kei-class mictrotruck.
The May 2025 patch expands the Gran Turismo 7 single-player offerings with the additions of three new World Circuit events—Lightweight K-Cup: Eiger Nordwand, American Clubman Cup 700: Autódromo de Interlagos, and Ferrari Circuit Challenge: Deep Forest Raceway. As is often the case, many of the new cars introduced in the game's latest update conveniently qualify for the World Circuit events arriving alongside them. In terms of other novelties, the 1.59 patch expands support for the Sophy AI agent, which is now available on the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix Layout in the Quick Race and Custom Race modes.
The Scapes mode has also been improved with the introduction of the "Shooting the perfect square" Curation. As the name implies, this photo mode feature allows players to take photos with a 1:1 aspect ratio—a square format that's perfect for social media. Polyphony Digital's track record suggests that the next Gran Turismo 7 content drop is unlikely to arrive before the second half of 2025. However, this doesn't preclude the possibility of the game receiving some hotfixes and quality-of-life improvements in the meantime.
