Granblue Fantasy: Relink characters all have their own strengths and weaknesses. While the default crew is more than capable of tackling challenges by themselves, they're going to need the help of their allies if they want to complete quests as quickly and efficiently as possible.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink Review
Granblue Fantasy: Relink weaves detailed co-op, action, and RPG experiences together, even if it takes a while for all of them to open up.
Players have over a dozen of options to choose among Granblue Fantasy: Relink's unlockable characters, and given the limited number of Crewmate Cards given to them over the course of the campaign, picking who to get first can be a real conundrum. Here are four characters to consider getting if you're looking to maximize your crew's effectiveness as you progress through the story.
Narmaya
Players who are looking for a versatile DPS character can expect great things from Narmaya, especially once she's fully built. She is a technical fighter who constantly switches between her two combat stances to deal single-target and AOE damage. Her fast-flowing Freeflutter Stance shreds opponents with blistering speed, while Dawnfly Stance cleaves entire groups of targets with its powerful charged attacks.
Like Vane, Narmaya can draw the enemy's attention away from her teammates. Not only does this relieve pressure from everyone else, but it also lets players take advantage of her counter-attack skill that deals damage and inflicts Slow, giving her more utility than expected from a DPS character.
Cagliostro
Cagliostro is arguably the best support character in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. She can shred enemy DEF and grant teammates bonus ATK, DEF, and Critical Hit Rate, reducing the need to find the perfect Sigils or build the best weapon for your main DPS character. Speaking of DPS, she can deal amazing damage on her own with her Collapse attack, which she can charge very quickly after casting her spells.
She's the only one in the Granblue Fantasy: Relink roster so far who can grant Critical Hit Rate to allies. Plus, she can serve as a healer too. Get her with your first Crewmate Card if you're looking for a reliable all-rounder.
Lancelot
Lancelot is another DPS-focused character who relies more on positioning and exploitation. He can unleash an unending combo of slashes with his twin swords, making him the ideal character for punishing enemies who get immobilized. Fans of Monster Hunter games should feel right at home with Lancelot's playstyle, especially those who main Dual Blades.
Thankfully, Lancelot's kit contains skills that can help him take advantage of his furious attacks. He can inflict Glaciate onto enemies over a wide area around him, freezing them in place and opening them up to Lancelot's unrelenting combo.
Vane
On the defensive side of things, Vane can protect your team by drawing the enemy's attention and creating fields that grant Invincibility. He's not shabby at all when it comes to offense either — Vane's attacks are slow, but they pack a serious wallop even with early game Sigils. On top of that, he has very high Stun power, which helps the crew perform more Link Attacks to fill their Link Gauges more quickly.
The best part of Vane is how beginner-friendly he is. In fact, he's so easy that the AI will often be your team's MVP during quests if you choose to play as someone else. He's useful at all stages of the game, and he shines brightest when the crew is facing the most dire of situations.
