Summary

  • Skybound Arts in Granblue Fantasy Relink become stronger when chained together, encouraging players to survive before dealing maximum damage.
  • Each healer character in the game, like Ferry and Io, has unique abilities and playstyles that make them reliable and effective in battles.
  • Characters like Katalina and Cagliostro offer large-radius healing spells and versatile support abilities, making them popular choices for players.

Though Granblue Fantasy Relink's real-time combat can look pretty familiar on the surface to any ARPG fans, it does have a few built-in systems and mechanics that make it quite different. By far the biggest examples of this are the Skybound Arts, which become much stronger if the player waits a little while before using them and then chains them together. As a result, players are encouraged to try and survive as long as possible before dishing out the maximum amount of damage, and there's no better way to stay standing in a fight than having a dependable healer on the team.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink — How to Switch Characters

Get the most out of the playable list of characters in Granblue Fantasy: Relink by learning how to switch from one hero to another.

Though there are a few characters featured in Granblue Fantasy Relink who can assume the role of healer, each of them is quite different in how they play due to their unique personal abilities and skills they can deploy in a battle. This also means that some tend to be much more reliable and effective than others.

1 Ferry

Ferry Can Provide Quick Healing While Buffing Herself In The Process

Ferry with multiple blue ghost pets around her

Best Support Skills:

  • Benediction: Restores HP To Ferry And Nearby Allies. Grants Regen, Def+ And Atk+ To Ferry Based On How Many Pets Are On The Battlefield

Ferry might not have the plethora of different healing skills that some characters do, but this shouldn't prevent players from picking her out, as she still has a reliable overall kit to play around with. Her only healing skill, Benediction, will boost her and her allies' health within a decent proximity, but depending on how many pets she has on the battlefield, this skill will also buff Ferry to make her far more formidable in battle.

Therefore, she's the perfect character for anyone who wants someone who can provide sustainable healing, while also being capable of going on the offensive when they need to. She comes with numerous self-buffs which can turn her into a real hard-hitter, so being able to pair this with a handy support skill lends her a very flexible playstyle.

2 Io

Io Excels At Keeping Her Teammates On Their Feet From A Safe Distance

Best Support Skills:

  • Healing Winds: Casts A Circle That Restores Allies' HP Over Time. Hold While Casting To Aim The Circle

Like Ferry, Io only has one healing spell up her sleeve, but what makes her stand out is the range at which she can use these abilities. Io is the most traditional mage of the crew, and so she often prefers to hang back and throw down elemental spells on enemies from afar, rather than getting up close and personal. This means she doesn't need to put herself at risk when supplying support for her allies, which is useful when coming up against some of the more aggressive enemy types.

Every crewmate in Granblue Fantasy: Relink is strong, but some offer more value than others in the early game.

As Io builds up her Mystic Orbs throughout a fight, she will gradually become much stronger and more of a threat on the battlefield. Because of this, she's great for providing healing early on, before then joining in the fight later in a battle once her attacks start packing more of a punch.

3 Rosetta

Rosetta Is Capable Of Drawing Away Enemy Fire While Also Strengthening The Entire Party With Her Roses

Best Support Skills:

  • Bouquet: Plants The Maximum Number Of Roses In Front Of Rosetta. Roses Restore Allies' HP And Removes Debuffs
  • Mesmerize: Roses Compel Enemies To Attack Them
  • Overgrowth: Planted Roses Grant Various Buffs To The Party Whenever Rosetta Uses A Combo Finisher

Just as her name implies, Rosetta's game plan is all about planting roses around the map, which can then be used to both damage her enemies, and more importantly, heal her allies. Though Rosetta can provide a quick dose of HP to her teammates with her Bouquet ability, she excels at keeping them safe after getting them back on their feet by drawing away enemy fire and granting damage resistance to the party.

Rosetta can be an incredibly valuable asset to any team, with the only real downside being how hard it can be to use her effectively. Trying to expand the range of her roses while also keeping a close eye on the party's health can take a little getting used to, but when in the right hands, Rosetta can single-handedly keep her team going through even the most brutal of encounters.

4 Katalina

Katalina's Large-Radius Healing Spells Make Her One Of The Most Reliable Support Units In The Game

Katalina

Best Support Skills:

  • Emerald Shield: Grants Def+ And Stout Heart To Katalina. Grants Both Buffs To Entire Party When Ares Is Active
  • Light Wall: Grant Invincibility To Katalina. Buff Extends To Entire Party When Ares Is Active.
  • Heal: Casts A Circle That Restores Allies' HP. Heals More HP At A Larger Radius When Ares Is Active

Katalina is a jack-of-all-trades who's more than capable of dishing out tons of damage, while also providing healing buffs for her and the rest of the team. The trick to using Katalina to her full effectiveness is powering up the Ares gauge, which is a mechanic that's unique to her character and will greatly enhance each one of her abilities once filled up. For example, while her Light Wall will initially make only Katalina invincible for a short period, this will extend to the entire team once Ares is on the battlefield, which needless to say, becomes crucial for boss encounters.

Another huge benefit that comes with building Katalina as a healer is how large her healing radius is, allowing her to easily save her allies without needing to constantly move around to get in range of them. Pair all of this with a handy ability that boosts the defense of her and the entire party, and it's no wonder why Katalina is such a popular choice for so many players when it comes to picking a healer.

5 Cagliostro

Even If An Ally Falls In Battle, Cagliostro Is More Than Capable Of Getting Them Back In The Fight

Cagliostro winking at the camera

Best Support Skills:

  • Rhizomata: Casts A Circle That Rescues Allies From Critical Condition
  • Reinforce: Casts A Circle That Restores Allies' HP. Hold While Casting To Aim The Circle
  • Phantasmagoria: Grants Phantasmagoria To The Entire Party

The self-proclaimed "Founder of Alchemy" herself is an incredible healer who's one of the most versatile characters in the entire game. Though she primarily excels at buffing, healing, and reviving teammates, her ability to change around her combo finisher means skilled players will still be able to use her offensively in between her healing duties. As mentioned previously, her Rhizmota allows Cagliostro to save allies who are in critical condition, making her a literal life-saver in some of the more arduous mid-to-late-game encounters.

That's not all though, as Cagliostro is also capable of removing buffs from her enemies to give her team an easier time, and can even lay down traps to stop foes in their tracks. Cagliostro has so much to her kit that it makes her a must-have for most players, especially considering she can make even the hardest of battles a lot more straightforward thanks to her amazing skills and personal abilities.

6 Gran/Djeeta

Players Have Plenty Of Healing Spells That They Can Acquire To Make Gran Or Djeeta The Ultimate Support Character

Gran and Djeeta with smiles on their faces

Best Support Skills:

  • Clarity: Casts A Circle That Removes All Debuffs And Grants Regen To Allies. Regen Heals More HP Based On Arts Lvl
  • Revive: Casts A Circle That Rescues Allies From Critical Condition. Allies Recover More HP Based On Arts Lvl
  • Substitute: Grants Def+ To Caster And Takes Damage In Place Of Allies. Effect Strength Is Based On Arts Lvl
  • Panacea: Casts A Circle That Restores Allies' HP. Heals More HP Based On Arts Lvl

Gran and Djeeta are by far the most customizable characters in all of Granblue Fantasy Relink. When opening up the Skill screen, players will be able to see a long list of abilities that these characters can equip, from heavy damage-dealing attacks to party-wide buffs. This means they can essentially be turned into the ultimate healer if players decide to build them this way.

Whether it's taking damage for the team, rescuing an ally in critical condition, or just granting health regen to the entire party, there is nothing Gran and Djeeta can't do when it comes to support.

Because these characters have so many other offensive abilities though, such as Decimate and Armor Break, it can also be a good idea to throw a few of these into the mix to ensure they are also capable of dealing with enemies when they need to. In a similar way to Katalina and Rosetta, Gran and Djeeta's healing abilities will be enhanced depending on their unique Arts level, which can be charged by performing combo finishers, making them incredibly powerful, but also very easy characters to learn.
