A new game-changing Grand Theft Auto 4 mod has finally fixed a lot of the PC port's issues after 17 years. Grand Theft Auto 4 remains among the most notorious PC ports of all time after its rough release in December 2008, but this mod helps alleviate many issues that remain in the modern version of the game.
The lack of official modding tools has made the history of Grand Theft Auto 4 modding difficult. There remains some standout mods, such as GTA 4's iCEnhancer visual overhaul, and with some effort, it remains possible to revamp the game from top to bottom. However, this is down to the game's dedicated community, which has continued to expand Grand Theft Auto 4 over the years.

New Grand Theft Auto 4 Mod Fixes PC Port After 17 Years
A new Grand Theft Auto 4 mod named Fusion Fix recently appeared online, with the official description claiming that it "aims to fix a wide range of technical issues, bugs, and limitations in the game that were left unaddressed in official updates." A look through the website is fascinating - it lists many of the issues found in Grand Theft Auto 4's notorious PC port, shows exactly how they were broken, and how this mod fixes it.
Plenty of features such depth of field, bloom, and motion blur are targeted by Fusion Fix. While they all worked on the console versions of the game, various issues held them back on PC. Despite multiple Grand Theft Auto 4 PC updates over the years, Rockstar never fixed some of the more egregious issues. Now, almost 17 years after the PC port was released, they have been solved by the community.
With this in mind, it could be the perfect time to start a new Grand Theft Auto 4 playthrough. Rockstar is currently gearing up to release Grand Theft Auto 6, which it claims will be the largest launch in video game history. The release date is currently set for May 26, 2026, leaving nearly eight months for players to replay the old games in anticipation. With Fusion Fix, PC is now the way to go for GTA 4 players.
