Summary
- A Grand Theft Auto 5 modder recreates Jason's house from GTA 6 Trailer 2.
- The mod can be used on FiveM servers and features a fully accessible interior.
- Grand Theft Auto 6's second trailer has already broken records.
A dedicated Grand Theft Auto 5 modder has meticulously recreated Jason Duval's home, based entirely on footage from the most recent Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer. Developer and publisher Rockstar Games shocked the world last week when it finally released a brand-new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, and it hasn't taken long for fans to start recreating assets from the upcoming title in Grand Theft Auto 5.
Grand Theft Auto 6's second trailer is already breaking records, as Rockstar Games recently revealed that it had become the fastest-growing video launch in the history of the internet. In its first 24 hours, Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 2 managed to rack up over 475 million views across all social media platforms, including the likes of YouTube, Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and more. As of writing, the trailer has over 108 million views on YouTube alone, making it the third most popular video on Rockstar's channel. The most popular is, of course, Grand Theft Auto 6's first trailer, with 259 million views, followed by the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 5, which has 121 million views.
Rockstar Insider Explains Why GTA 6 Delay Was ‘Necessary’
Rockstar’s recent decision to delay Grand Theft Auto 6 until 2026 has sparked a lot of discussion, but according to a trusted insider, the move was absolutely the right call. Originally expected in late 2025, the game’s release was pushed back to May 26, 2026—a shift that insiders say was crucial for maintaining the game’s quality. While fans were naturally disappointed, the blow was softened somewhat by the drop of a new trailer that once again showed off the game’s stunning visuals and ambitious scope.
GTA 5 Modder Recreates Jason's House
Grand Theft Auto 6's second trailer is less than two weeks old, but a modder has already meticulously recreated Jason Duval's home within Grand Theft Auto 5. The mod was created by YouTuber MouMoud_RPF, who posted a short video on their channel earlier this week showing off the incredible recreation. According to the description for the mod, it is available to use on FiveM servers and also features custom audio occlusion and custom doors. Unfortunately, the link provided by the creator to download the mod is currently leading to a 404 error, which means it's currently unavailable to download. Whether or not Rockstar issued a DMCA strike on the creator due to the asset being from the unreleased Grand Theft Auto 6 is unknown.
This isn't the first Grand Theft Auto 5 mod based on GTA 6 to be released, and there's a strong chance it won't be the last. There is currently an ongoing project in which fans are slowly piecing together Grand Theft Auto 6's map based on the many screenshots, leaks, and two trailers for the title. One user has even gone as far as to begin recreating the map inside of Grand Theft Auto 5 to give a general idea of how big Vice City is expected to be.
With Grand Theft Auto 6 being delayed to 2026, it's no surprise that fans are creating mods for Grand Theft Auto 5 based on the upcoming title to pass the time. Grand Theft Auto 6 was initially set to launch in Fall 2025, but despite numerous reconfirmations of the release window by Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, the highly anticipated title has been pushed back into next year. In a new statement from Rockstar, the studio said it needs the extra time to deliver the level of quality that fans have grown to expect from the developer.
