Jay Klaitz, who famously portrayed Lester Crest in Grand Theft Auto 5, has commented on speculation that the next installment in the series, Grand Theft Auto 6, will cost $100. Although neither Rockstar Games nor Take-Two Interactive has revealed the official price for Grand Theft Auto 6, analysts predict a price increase from the usual $70 is on the horizon, and Klaitz believes it would be perfectly warranted if it were to happen.
Recent months have seen numerous industry analysts comment on the potential price of Grand Theft Auto 6, as many believe an increase from the usual $70 price point is inevitable, given the sheer scope of Rockstar's upcoming title. Back in March, Michael Pachter, the managing director of Wedbush Securities' equity research, said that Grand Theft Auto 6 could sell for $100 or more. This has been a talking point ever since, and now former Grand Theft Auto stars are even commenting on whether or not such a steep price would be warranted.

Grand Theft Auto 5's Lester Comments on GTA 6 Price
In a new interview with The Escapist, Jay Klaitz, who portrayed the iconic Lester Crest as a pivotal character in Grand Theft Auto 5, has said he believes Grand Theft Auto 6 deserves to be $100. "Yeah dude. I mean, GTA V was so heavy on the mocap. I assume that GTA VI will be the same way, and these games take so long to make. Years and years and years. It’s not like they’ve just been hanging out, chilling and then just started doing the work last year. They finished GTA V and then started on GTA VI more or less immediately thereafter," Klaitz said when asked if Grand Theft Auto 6 deserves to be the first $100 game.
Klaitz then justifies his answer by noting the development time for Grand Theft Auto games, as well as the downloadable content and online mode that will also likely come to GTA 6. "You're almost buying multiple games when you buy the one," the actor said. However, Klaitz does then go on to say that he would like to see it made more accessible to more fans. "I get that side of the argument too, to make it affordable for folks. That’s cool too," he says, before doubling down on his original sentiment and saying that the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series "warrants" that price tag.
Although there have been some major concerns about the price of Grand Theft Auto 6, a recent survey did ease the community's anxiety, as it revealed that Rockstar would risk leaving money on the table by pricing the title at anything more than $70. While Take-Two has already suggested that Grand Theft Auto 6 will have multiple editions available - which shouldn't come as much of a surprise, given that this has become the norm in the video game industry- a recent survey strongly suggests that Rockstar and Take-Two would actually lose money by pricing the standard edition of the game at more than the usual $70.
