Nopixel, undoubtedly the most popular Grand Theft Auto 5 roleplay server, is officially coming to the Rockstar Games Launcher and "other" PC platforms soon, with a new server known as Nopixel V. Shortly after Cfx.re's FiveM mod for Grand Theft Auto 5 released a decade ago, the Nopixel server skyrocketed in popularity due to the large amount of high-profile content creators on the server. Names such as xQc, Summit1g, Valkyrae, and many more made Nopixel the most popular RP server around, which also meant it had an incredibly strict application process.

Grand Theft Auto's RP servers have become all the rage over the last ten years, and it's largely due to the Cfx.re team, which created FiveM for Grand Theft Auto 5 and RedM for Red Dead Redemption 2. The mods allow players to create and host their own role-playing servers, where participants can create their own custom characters with unique backstories, professions, their own personality quirks, and more. Unlike Grand Theft Auto Online, which features tons of different missions for players to complete, RP servers allow players to become immersed in a living, breathing Los Santos.

Even though a lot of fans think it would be a cool idea, the chances of GTA 5's protagonists having a cameo in GTA 6 seem slimmer than ever.

Nopixel Is Officially Coming to the Rockstar Games Launcher

As the popularity of RP servers continued to grow with each passing year, it didn't come as much of a surprise when Rockstar announced it had acquired the creators of Grand Theft Auto 5's FiveM mod, Cfx.re, back in 2023. Now it seems as though the studio is continuing to invest in role-playing servers, as the publisher has announced a new partnership with Nopixel, the biggest Grand Theft Auto RP server to date. The collaboration will see a new Nopixel server, known as Nopixel V, come to the Rockstar Games Launcher and "other" PC platforms soon. Further details on the server have yet to be shared, so it's unclear how Nopixel V will, if at all, differ from the original Nopixel.

While this is great news for Grand Theft Auto 5 players, it's also fantastic news for those patiently waiting for Grand Theft Auto 6. Although Rockstar hasn't unveiled anything related to the next evolution of Grand Theft Auto Online, it's becoming increasingly likely that the developer intends to incorporate RP servers into Grand Theft Auto 6. This hasn't been confirmed as of writing, but with role-playing servers becoming incredibly popular, and as Rockstar now owns the creator of FiveM, it seems unlikely that Grand Theft Auto 6 won't have official support.

Even without integrated RP servers, Grand Theft Auto 6 is already shaping up to be the biggest launch in video game history. The highly anticipated title was initially set to launch in Fall 2025, but Rockstar Games announced an unfortunate delay earlier this year as the studio said it requires more time to ensure Grand Theft Auto 6 meets the expectations of players. Rockstar is also seemingly aware of just how big Grand Theft Auto 6's launch is going to be, as a job listing for the studio framed the title as "the largest game launch in history."
