Some of the most expansive open-world games of all time, the Grand Theft Auto series is home to countless Easter eggs and secrets, with GTA 5 alone having a total of well over 150 fun little references. Whether it's inside jokes like San Andreas' infamous Bigfoot myth, references to popular movie franchises like Star Trek and Star Wars, or references to Rockstar's own past catalog, the GTA series has it all hidden within its sprawling open-world sandboxes, and it seems like a given that Grand Theft Auto 6 will follow suit.
Set once again in Vice City, Grand Theft Auto 6 seems like it could be the most expansive entry in the franchise yet, in a number of ways. Though it's yet to be confirmed, it seems likely that GTA 6 will feature the biggest map in series history, and if that's true, then it also seems like a safe bet to assume that GTA 6 will have the most secrets in the series, and there's one creepy Easter egg from GTA 5 that could be elevated to new heights.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Should Include Its Own Ghostly Easter Egg
GTA 5's Ghost of Mount Gordo Easter Egg Explained
Grand Theft Auto 5 is home to well over 150 Easter eggs and secrets, and a good handful of those are surprisingly creepy. Though GTA is usually rated Mature in the US, horror and gore have never really been a major part of the series, which has always made its creepier Easter eggs all the more unsettling. Grand Theft Auto 5's Ghost of Mount Gordo is the perfect example of that.
If players head to the top of GTA 5's Mount Gordo between the hours of 23:00 and 00:00, they should be able to spot a female ghost floating menacingly above the rocks. The ghost's face appears in a perpetual state of shock, with her eyes rolled all the way back into her skull, appearing stark white. Beneath the ghost's feet is the word "Jock," scrawled in blood on the rocks. Occasionally, the spirit's appearance is also accompanied by a ghostly voice crying out in pain. If the player steps too close, the ghost disappears instantly.
According to Grand Theft Auto 5's in-game lore, this apparition is the ghostly spirit of Jolene Cranley-Evans, the wife of an aspiring stuntman named John "Jock" Cranley. After Jolene refused to move out of Blaine County to fulfill Jock's dreams of becoming a stuntman in 1978, Jock threw his wife off Mount Gordo, causing her immediate death. Though Jock was arrested on suspicion of murder, he was let go soon after, with the police ruling the death to be an accident, causing her ghostly spirit to remain trapped on the cliff's edge.
How GTA 6 Could Elevate This Ghostly Easter Egg
Though the Grand Theft Auto series is home to some pretty creepy video game Easter eggs, none are quite so viscerally unsettling as GTA 5's Ghost of Mount Gordo, and that's quite impressive considering it's just a 2D image imposed onto the environment. This Easter egg is easily one of the series' most iconic, and Grand Theft Auto 6 could take it to the next level in a few different ways, depending on how much effort Rockstar wanted to put into it.
The most basic upgrade that GTA 6 could give this ghostly Easter egg is by simply making the ghost a full 3D character model, as opposed to just a 2D flat image. The next layer would be to add some kind of gameplay around it, having the ghost temporarily chase the player if they get too close, or cause a series of jumpscares if players are in the vicinity. If Rockstar really wanted to take this Easter egg to the next level in GTA 6, it could create a whole side mission dedicated to unraveling the mystery behind the ghost's identity.
