Ubisoft has commented on Grand Theft Auto 6 and the game's 2025 release window, stating that it will be a positive thing for the video game industry. Assuming Grand Theft Auto 6 releases in 2025 as expected and isn't hit with a release date delay, it will mark a whopping 12 years since the last main series GTA game hit store shelves. Considering this and the simple fact that it's Grand Theft Auto, there are many expecting Grand Theft Auto 6 to be one of the biggest video game releases of all time.

The gaming industry and the entertainment industry at large will no doubt be keeping their eyes on the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date. Releasing a game or a movie close to the Grand Theft Auto 6 launch date could spell disaster, as GTA 6 is expected to be an absolute juggernaut of unprecedented proportions. But not all gaming companies are afraid of the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date.

Speaking in a recent investors' call, as reported by GameSpot, Ubisoft looks at the Grand Theft Auto 6 2025 release as a positive thing. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot said that GTA coming out means "more people come to play" and that, historically, the company's games have performed well when released around the same time as GTA titles. The specific example provided in the investors' call was Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, which was released one month after Grand Theft Auto 5 and was a massive commercial success for Ubisoft.

Ubisoft Isn't Afraid of the Grand Theft Auto 6 Release Date

At the time of this writing, Grand Theft Auto 6 has a vague fall 2025 release window, and Ubisoft doesn't have any games with specific release dates that year. Ubisoft always has something to release in the fall, though, so one has to imagine that a major Ubisoft game of some description will indeed launch around the same time as Grand Theft Auto 6.

It will be a while before Ubisoft reveals its 2025 slate. Right now, the company is focused on promoting its 2024 games, which include Star Wars Outlaws on August 30, Just Dance 2025 in October, and Assassin's Creed Shadows on November 15. Ubisoft has a variety of mobile games in development that could potentially be released in 2024 as well, though that remains to be seen.

And while Ubisoft has not announced specific 2025 release dates for any of its games, it has multiple projects in development that could potentially release next year near GTA 6's launch date. This includes Anno 117: Pax Romana, one of the Assassin's Creed games it has in the works, the Splinter Cell remake, and more.
