In Grounded 2, players have a Thirst meter that lets them know when their character needs hydration. Players who do not want to deal with this survival mechanic can opt for a Creative game mode when setting up their save file difficulty in Grounded 2, but players who prefer survival mode will have to find a solution for their character's Thirst.
Once the game leaves early access, fans will be able to fully customize difficulty settings and turn off Thirst, but for now, they'll have to deal with it if they want to play survival mode. This guide tells players what they need to know about keeping themselves hydrated in Grounded 2 so they can remain as healthy as possible.
What Happens When You Drink Nasty Water in Grounded 2?
While drinking nasty water is a way to quench thirst in Grounded 2, it is not an ideal solution. When players drink nasty water, they will become sick.
Sick status effect description - "Contaminated water is causing your stomach to toss and turn. You drank something nasty and need to sleep it off. Drinking nasty things leads to an increasingly upset stomach."
When they're sick, their Hunger meter will go down much faster, as their stomach will be quite upset. It is best to stop drinking nasty water at this point, as the status effect can accumulate, lowering the Hunger meter at an even faster rate. If players get too hungry, their max stamina will be reduced.
To cure sickness in Grounded 2, players must wait until their character is tired enough to go to sleep and then visit their Lean-To and rest.
How to Find Clean Drinking Water in Grounded 2
When gamers first start their playthrough, the best way to get clean drinking water in Grounded 2 is to slurp it directly from Dew Drops.
Dew Drops can be hard to reach, since they're usually on top of grass, but gamers can throw a Spear or a Pebble at the drop in order to get it down to the ground, giving them easy access to it.
Early on, players won't be able to collect Dew Drops and will have to harvest them for immediate consumption. However, when they gain access to more resources, they will be able to store Dew Drops by building a Canteen and a Water Container, and they can passively collect them with the Dew Collector. Here is how to build each of these water storing and collecting items:

While Canteens are a great way to bring water along with the player on the go, containers give them a safe storage location at a base or set location. The video below demonstrates how to reach Dew Drops and store them:
