All New Weapons in Grounded 2 Toxic Tangle Update

Players returning to Grounded 2 with the Toxic Tangle Update might find a few changes in the way combat works, especially on the Mutations and Weapon Perks side. But there's also an important silver lining in between all those changes: There are more weapons now, and they come with some cool designs and effects to boot. Let's take a look at them:

Black Ant Sword

Black Ant Sword Grounded 2
  • Combo Damage: 40/40/50
  • Stun:5
  • Speed: Fast
  • Crit Chance: 5%

A Tier 3 Version of the classic One-Handed Sword in Grounded 2, with more combo power and, of course, a new color since it's made from Black Ants instead of Red Ants. On that note, this weapon is unlocked by analyzing the Black Ant Head dropped by Black Soldier Ants. It's a decent weapon, but with no particular perk to make it shine. Except maybe that players can combine it with the Black Ant Set and Black Ant Shield and look super cool.

Cricket Lute Bow

Grounded 2 Cricket Lute Bow
  • Bow Damage Multiplier: 20%
  • Speed: Average
  • Crit Chance: 4%

Arguably, the best ranged weapon this expansion has brought. With lots of power, and a perk that gives the bow a 35% chance when hitting a target to give nearby players and Buggies a healing buff. This, combined with the new Bardic Inspiration Mutation and the Cricket Armor Set, turns all archers in Grounded 2 into combat Healers. How cool is that? Players need to analyze the Cricket Drumstick to uncover this blueprint.

Discord

Grounded 2 Discord
  • Bow Damage Multiplier: 20%
  • Speed: Average
  • Crit Chance: 5%

This alternate version of the Cricket Lute Bow is a modification made by the Mysterious Stranger, which can be found in the southern corner of the O.G.R.R. Labs' rooftop. Its major difference from the original bow is that instead of healing allies, it has a perk called Song of Discord that causes critical hits with the bow to apply various negative effects to targets. Each critical hit has a 35% chance to lower the target's attack by 15% for 10 seconds, or a 35% chance to lower the target's movement speed by 40% for 5 seconds, and finally, a 25% chance to apply 8 stun every second for 2 seconds. Super useful against bosses.

Dusk Blades

Grounded 2 Dusk Blades
  • Combo Damage: 39/39/54
  • Stun: 4
  • Speed: Fast
  • Crit Chance: 6%

A pair of daggers made of Earwig Pincer (and yes, players need to analyze this bug part to unlock the recipe). Fast, deadly, and comes with a perk unlocked at weapon level 4 called Desperate Defense, which decreases all damage the player takes when under 75% Health. It's a decent weapon that can be used for lots of different builds, so players should try it to see if it fits their tastes. It is extremely useful to deal with spiders.

Crimson Reapers

Grounded 2 Cimson Reapers
  • Combo Damage: 39/39/54
  • Stun: 4
  • Speed: Fast
  • Crit Chance: 5%

The Crimson Reapers are the modified version of the Dusk Blades, and come with a reduced critical chance, but the perk unlocked at level 4 is Desperate Criticals, which increases the critical chance of players' attacks when they are at 30% health or less. Useful, but not the best weapons in the game. They can be found by scouting the Pumpkin surrounded by Tang Pools (that can be cleared out with the Ladybug Buggy) and O.R.C. Black Ant Soldiers. The location is near the border of the Greenhouse, south of the fertilizer bag.

Grounded 2 - All Creatures
Grounded 2: All Creatures & Their Loot

There are many creatures in Grounded 2, most of whom are insects, but there are also arachnids and mollusks. Each of these can be killed for loot.

Acid Ruin

Grounded 2 Acid Ruin
  • Combo Damage: 42/42/53
  • Stun: 1
  • Speed: Slow
  • Crit Chance: 3%

This new Mage Staff is all about causing Sour Tang Buildup, a status effect that causes armor corrosion and turns even the most fearsome foe into a vulnerable target. Though Mage Builds are greatly undervalued in Grounded 2, they are extremely fun to play. The last combo from this staff causes a splosh of Tang goo that builds up this new status effect on all nearby enemies. It can be

Wither Sting

Grounded 2 Wither Sting
  • Combo Damage: 42/42/53
  • Stun: 1
  • Speed: Slow
  • Crit Chance: 2%

A modified version of the Acid Ruin Staff, with two interesting perks Tang Attack (which is the same one as the Acid Ruin staff) and Puckered Recovery, which causes attacks to reduce enemies' healing effectiveness by 50% for 10 seconds, as long as the enemy has their Tang buildup maxed out, something not so hard to accomplish with a few combos. So, cuts healing, deals damage, where's the catch? The catch is that players need to find this Stranger-modified weapon inside a trash can located in the Yard’s Fire Pit area, near the park bench. Watch out for the new bugs roaming around; they will give players a run for their money.

Boom Stick

Grounded 2 Boomstick
  • Combo Damage: 55/55/69
  • Stun: 9
  • Speed: Slow
  • Crit Chance: 2%

The Boom Stick is a modified version of the Wallopeño (from Grounded), and it deals massive Smashin and Spicy damage. It's charged attack, though, is the cherry on top: It causes a shockwave AoE for 15 Spicy Damage and 15 Sizzle Buildup on every creature it touces. Pretty cool, but needs to be found, or more precisely, wrestled from the ravenous maws of an O.R.C. Wolf Spider (not literally). The weapon is guarded by this boss Bug, and can be found inside an intricate network of tunnels accessed through an entrance below the Vegetable Basket (garden wall south-western corner). Have fun spelunking!
