Grounded 2: Wolf Spider Locations

Wolf Spiders are Tier 3 creatures in Grounded 2 that unlock some mid-game gear for crafting when scanned using the Resource Analyzer. While not nearly as annoying as Wasps, they are some of the most terrifying enemies to face in combat thanks to their potent venom that can devastate players who aren’t great at parrying, especially at higher difficulties.

Just like Grounded 1, Wolf Spiders spawn in fixed locations throughout the map. Locating them naturally can be hard, as, unlike other spiders, they are solitary creatures that do not announce their presence. Still, Wolf Spider nests have the same telltale webbing surrounding them as regular spider nests.

Wolf Spider Locations in Grounded 2

Wolf Spiders can be found in multiple locations throughout the world of Brookhollow Park. Here are four spots Wolf Spiders call home.

Wolf Spider Location 1 (Lightpost)

Just east of the Picnic Table is a large metal lightpost that appears as a grey hexagon on the map (marked above). A dirt path goes underneath it, and there is a Wolf Spider nesting inside.

Wolf Spider Location 2 (Podium)

Southeast of the lightpost, near the point where Snack Bar Junction, Ceremony, and Grass Games meet, is a large wooden podium. A Wolf Spider is hiding inside.

Wolf Spider Location 3 (Flower Pot)

At the bottom left corner of the Entrance area is a cement flower pot with three large flowers in bloom. A Wolf Spider is resting among them. Players can climb inside the flower pot by jumping off the Mushroom heads north of it.

Wolf Spider Location 4 (Pine Hill)

At the top left corner of the Pine Hill area is a Pine Tree with a huge spider nest underneath its roots. The Wolf Spider patrols the roots that spread to the east of this pine tree, just next to the northern hedge.

How to Beat a Wolf Spider in Grounded 2

All attacks a Wolf Spider performs can be parried with 100% effectiveness, nullifying all damage. This makes parrying the best way to beat a Wolf Spider. These creatures attack in four main ways:

Basic Attack: Simple swipe using one of the forward legs.
Three-Hit Claw Attack: Swipes at the player three times in quick succession.
Delayed Jump Attack: The Spider jumps up and slams down on the player. There is a minor delay and hang time that can mess up parry timing.
Standing Lunge Attack: It stands up on its hind legs and extends its front two legs forward in a lunge.

All Wolf Spider attacks are easy to recognize as they are fairly well telegraphed. Blocking isn’t recommended without a Heavy Shield, as the Venom buildup can kill players even without a direct hit. Tier 2 and above gear is recommended, as the Wolf Spider can one-shot you otherwise. Make sure your weapons and armor are upgraded as much as possible.
