Grounded takes you into a dynamic survival setting where you manage in a miniature world of insects after being reduced to their size. Survival isn't easy when you're the prey, but luckily, you can use a variety of items to fend off these tiny adversaries.
The Giddy Goop happens to be among the most useful items you can use, which, when combined with other finishing combos, deals significant damage to bugs. Unfortunately, Giddy Goop is a rare item, which means that getting your hands on it is going to be tricky. This guide has the perfect solution to get a hold of the Giddy Goop in Grounded.
Grounded: 10 Weapons That Are Not Worth Enhancing
Grounded players are better off not investing too many resources into the following weapons.
How To Get Giddy Goop In Grounded
When you equip Giddy Goop, it changes the mechanics of your weapon's finishing move. Normally, finishing a combo with your weapon results in a standard attack on the enemy. But with Giddy Goop, your finishing move will shoot out a sticky goop instead. This Goop inflicts 25 damage to whatever it hits.
Giddy Goop is compatible only with specific weapons and activates solely during finishing moves. So, if your weapon doesn't have a combo, or if it's a ranged weapon, fists, or certain types of daggers, it won't work.
There are a couple useful methods to acquire Giddy Goop in Grounded, detailed below.
Get Giddy Goop By Killing Fireflies
Fireflies are found exclusively in the Flooded Zone at night in the upper Flower Bed. Look for them flying at high altitudes in the designated areas during nighttime. Fireflies are normally passive unless attacked, so equip yourself with appropriate gear before engaging with them.
Given the high altitude at which Fireflies fly, ranged weapons like the Crow Crossbow or Insect Bow are recommended for easy killing. When attacking fireflies, be cautious, as they will retaliate by expelling Glow Goo.
If one firefly is attacked, all others in the area will become hostile to the player.
The best strategy here is to try luring each firefly away from groups to avoid being swarmed. This makes it easier to handle them individually. Once defeated, be sure to collect any loot they drop. Since Giddy Goop is a rare drop item, with only a 1% chance of acquiring it, continue hunting Fireflies to increase your chances of obtaining them.
Steal Giddy Goop From Fireflies
Alternatively, you can also steal Giddy Goop from Fireflies. However, you will need a special Trinket that allows you to steal items from other insects, like Sticky Finger or Rascal Rogue. With these Trinkets in your hand, you can steal the Giddy Goop from Fireflies during melee attacks.
Keep in mind that your chances of stealing items from insects may vary depending on the Trinket you carry.
