The Mother Demon armor set is arguably the hardest to acquire in the entire game, but it comes with plenty of benefits, making it a worthwhile endeavor to seek out. When equipped, players will gain a substantial defensive bonus, as well as various powerful Poison effects when attacking. Players should prepare well before trying to obtain this armor, as doing so requires them to overcome one of the toughest bosses in the game.
How To Unlock The Mother Demon Armor Recipes
Like most Tier 3 items, players will need to gather some specific materials and Analyze them at a Field Station before they become craftable. For each item of the armor set, a different component will need to be scanned.
For the Mask of the Mother Demon, players will need to Analyze a Broodmother Chunk, while Broodmother Venom will unlock the Chest and Greaves components. While it may seem like a fairly straightforward task, obtaining the items requires the slaying of a Broodmother, one of the strongest enemies in the game, as well as the transportation of the items back to a safe location.
Where To Find The Crafting Materials In Grounded
The primary source of materials for the Mother Demon armor set will come from defeating the Hedge Broodmother, a powerful spider boss found deep inside the Hedge area of the map. Slaying this giant beast will yield various items, including Broodmother Fangs, Broodmother Chunks, and Broodmother Venom.
Players can also use a Broodmother BLT to respawn her in order to get more of the required materials.
In addition to the various Broodmother items, players will also need to gather a substantial amount of Silk Rope. Silk Rope can be crafted by analyzing and collecting Web Fiber, a common material acquired by destroying any form of spider web.
How To Craft The Mother Demon Armor
Although the individual pieces of the armor set will enhance each other, they can be crafted separately. Having defeated a Broodmother, players can loot her body to find the required items. The item requirements for each part of the armor set are as follows:
- Mask of the Mother Demon - 1x Broodmother Fang, 3x Broodmother Chunk, 10x Silk Rope.
- Chest of the Mother Demon - 3x Broodmother Chunk, 4x Broodmother Fang, 10x Silk Rope.
- Greaves of the Mother Demon - 2x Broodmother Fang, 4x Broodmother Venom, 10x Silk Rope.
Analyzing these items will unlock several new pieces of equipment for crafting, including the Mother Demon armor pieces. However, due to the high material requirement, it may not be as simple as scanning the items and then immediately being able to craft them. Fortunately, once the materials have been scanned, each item can be crafted using a common workbench.
In order to upgrade any piece of the armor, players will need to use a Smithing Station.
