‎Grow a Garden: Complete Zen Event Guide

The Grow a Garden devs keep rolling out weekly events to keep the Roblox experience fresh, and this time they’ve introduced the Zen event; a Chinese-themed update focused on leveling up the event shop and buying new items.

But it’s not as simple as it sounds. Just like the Bee Swarm event, you’ll need to collect a brand-new currency called Chi, which is earned by giving fruits with the Tranquil variant. The event runs for eight days, from July 19 to July 26. Here's a full look at what’s included and how to take part in Grow a Garden's Zen event.

Trade Chi & Buy from Zen Shop

Firstly, there’s a Chi trader at the event shop, a raccoon and panda-like creature who’s ready to channel Chi for you if you hand over Tranquil Plants. Since Chi is the currency needed to buy items from the Zen Shop (also called Tranquil Treasures), you’ll need to earn it before grabbing anything you like.

Mainly, you can get Tranquil Plants when the Zen event starts. It happens every hour and lasts for 10 minutes. When the event is active, a shiny glow appears and turns your crops into Tranquil. Some of these variants give more Chi than others, so it's better to grow the right ones. If you're not sure which ones to use, we’ve made this simple guide to help you pick the best Tranquil Plants for farming Chi.

Grow Zen Channeller Tree

Next, you’ve got the Zen Channeller, a Monk NPC on a platform to the right of the Chi Trader. He takes your Tranquil Plants and gives you Zen in return (which works just like Chi). That Zen gets added to an upgrade bar. With each level, the tree behind him grows, and new items become available in the Zen Shop. It’s the same system as Chi, so you’ll snag the same amount of Zen as the Chi value of the plants you give.

Each time you make an upgrade, you’ll also get random rewards like Zen Seed Pack, Zen Crate, Zen Egg, and more. Players can restock the Zen Shop using Sheckles, but the restocking cost goes up each time, so spend wisely.

On top of the Zen Egg pets, the 1.15.0 update brought Koi, a mythical critter that can return your eggs after you hatch them (except exotic or premium eggs). You can grab one from the Zen Shop for just 45 Chi.

Since the other merchants have left, a Spray Merchant can show up during the Zen Event; there’s a small chance every four hours, though. When it does, it stays for 30 minutes stocked with Mutation Sprays.
