The first glimpses of Grand Theft Auto 6 were finally revealed by Rockstar Games, after years of speculation and rumor-mongering about everything the game was going to be about. French Minecraft player and YouTuber EvilGame posted a clip of the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer remake that he was working on to his Instagram account. He says that he's still in the process of doing the entire trailer and there was no release schedule just yet, but from the looks of it, it's a faithful shot-for-shot recreation of the announcement trailer, down to the late afternoon natural lighting and the familiar visual elements that uniquely characterize Vice City.
As the snippet follows the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer exactly, it shows the introduction of female protagonist Lucia getting out of prison, the pink flamingos that inhabit the locale, the distinct purple-orange hue of a Vice City sunset, yachts on the blue sea, and more. For those who can't get enough of this, EvilGame streamed himself putting the video together for over three hours on YouTube.
Players recreating their favorite scenes and settings in Minecraft isn't new. Thanks to its nearly limitless possibilities, fans have made their own Minecraft versions of things from games like Elden Ring, Pokemon, and Halo, as well as from popular franchises like Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Star Trek, and even real-life structures like the iconic Notre Dame cathedral, just to name a few. Minecraft creations are a bustling genre of content all on their own, as players showcase their creativity and determination to build impressive things.
Things like this may have to tide over Grand Theft Auto fans for at least one more year. In its announcement, Rockstar hasn't yet mentioned which quarter or half of 2025 it's looking to release the game in. Some players could also have to wait longer, as the PC version of Grand Theft Auto 6 might be released later. But with a decade since the franchise's last mainline release in Grand Theft Auto 5, most fans have already gotten used to the wait.
