GTA 6 Is Going to Be the Most Beautiful Game Ever Made, But…

Grand Theft Auto 6, the long-awaited title that's expected to raise the bar for realism in video games, will likely reach its true visual potential only a year or so after launch, and there's a good reason for that. Rockstar's open-world game is set to hit consoles next year, on May 26. However, fans might need to wait much longer to see Grand Theft Auto 6's true beauty.

So far, GTA 6 trailers have proven that Rockstar is reaching for the stars when it comes to graphics. Overanalyzing both teasers, viewers have spotted intricate details such as carbonation bubbles in drinks, fingerprint smudges on metal bars, and muscles responding to character movement. These could all be seen as early signs of a potential graphical revolution, a major leap for immersion in games. However, the franchise's history suggests that the sixth installment will likely need more time to cross the finish line.

It Looks Like GTA 6 Will Be 30 FPS

Grand Theft Auto 6's new trailer is incredibly impressive, but the game's attention to detail and overall fidelity may limit it to running at 30 FPS.

Judging by Rockstar’s track record, the best and most polished version of GTA 6 is likely to be the PC port, which may arrive about a year after the console release on May 26, 2026. When the company ported GTA 5 to PC 19 months after its initial launch, it was quickly deemed the best-looking version. The same scenario may now unfold for the upcoming installment, unleashing its highest graphical potential and delivering the best performance only on PC.

GTA 6 Will Likely Flourish After Its Launch on PC, Just Like GTA 5 Did

Released in 2015, GTA 5's PC port featured a higher and more stable frame rate, improved textures, enhanced view distance, and several other visual upgrades. It looked way better than the original. After all, Rockstar had an extra year and a half to spend on perfecting the visuals and optimizing performance, while also taking full advantage of the PC's higher graphical capabilities. If the developer follows the same strategy with GTA 6's release, it could very well achieve the same result: a better-looking and more polished edition that runs at 60 FPS without hassle.

Unfortunately, GTA 6's presumed superiority on PC may not be enough to soothe fans of the platform. Right now, PC players' main concern is the flood of spoilers they'll have to endure before the game arrives on their preferred platform, which is an understandable worry. Still, for PC fans eager to experience the highest immersion in an open-world game, the wait and the unwanted waves of spoilers will most likely be worth it, as what they will get to play could very well be the game's complete edition.
