Summary
- A new GTA Online event reignites the famous moon theory for Grand Theft Auto 6's second trailer.
- Only one of the moons present in the new GTA Online races has a different moon.
- The new theory points to a potential second trailer between January 29 and February 5, which aligns with another recent theory from fans.
As Rockstar Games continues to be silent surrounding the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6, fans have come up with another moon theory that may point to a possible release date for the game's second trailer. Grand Theft Auto 6's very first trailer took the world by storm back in December 2023, but the studio has remained tight-lipped on the title ever since, resulting in some of the wildest fan theories in video game history.
The next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series has become one of the most highly anticipated video games of the past few decades. From fan theories to monumental leaks, Grand Theft Auto 6 has been the talk of the internet for quite some time now. The title could be so big that analysts have even predicted that Grand Theft Auto 6 could mark the beginning of a price increase for triple-a video games. Researcher and analyst Matthew Ball recently sparked controversy by suggesting that there "is hope" for the rest of the industry that Take-Two Interactive will raise the price of Grand Theft Auto 6 from the usual $70 up to either $80 or $100.

GTA 6 Fans Have a New Moon Theory for Trailer 2
Considering fans are still patiently waiting for a second trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, it might be a little early to speculate on a potential price increase for the title. The good news, however, is that fans believe they've finally (after dozens and dozens of failed theories) cracked the code and worked out when the next trailer is coming. Twitter user Gtamen recently noticed that the new Lunar New Year stunt races in GTA Online have developer options to change the moon, but only one of the moons is different. While races such as Lap of Honor and The Big Bash both have full moons in the sky, Spectacle appears to have a crescent moon.
The likely option is that Rockstar is simply having some fun with fans after seeing the countless other Grand Theft Auto 6 moon theories in the past. However, if the studio is actually teasing a second trailer, it could be between January 29 and February 5, as this is when the next crescent moon will appear. While there's a strong chance that this theory is added to the ever-growing list of debunked Grand Theft Auto 6 theories, there is one small detail that could make this one more credible than the rest.
Fans have already been speculating that a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released in the coming weeks as Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-Two Interactive, is set to host a quarterly earnings call on February 6. Although most of these calls pass by with very few details on Grand Theft Auto 6, the studio has been known to release new information, trailers, or screenshots before an earnings call in order to please shareholders. With both of these theories tied together, there's a (very slim) chance that Rockstar is gearing up to premiere a new trailer before the earnings call on February 6.
