After being betrayed by Catalina in the intro, Claude does everything in his power to gain a ton of influence in Liberty City and figure out a way to get his hands on the woman who betrayed him. However, near the end, this villain kidnaps Maria (a person who was helping Claude in his quest for revenge) and demands a ransom from him.

With all his weapons confiscated, players must incapacitate a guard, take a lowly pistol, and take out numerous members of the Cartel before eventually making their way to Catalina. He saves Maria and shoots down his ex-girlfriend's chopper with an RPG, ending her life for good. The game isn't over yet, with Maria complaining about her hair and nails being ruined by the kidnapping, only to be silenced by a gunshot that is presumably shot by Claude.

Just like its predecessor, players get to choose from one of three endings in Grand Theft Auto 5. Franklin is the one who makes this decision, being told by the game's villains to either kill Trevor or Michael. Both these ending paths are pretty sad, which is why most people would prefer to opt for the Deathwish ending.

The trio teams up to take out everyone who's gunning for them, splitting targets so that they don't attract attention. Stretch, Haines, Mr. Cheng, and Devin Weston are all sent to an early grave, ensuring that the heroes don't have to worry about any crosshairs on their backs anymore.
