Bounty hunting missions were introduced in GTA Online by way of the Bottom Dollar Bounties update in summer 2024. To play these missions, GTA Online players must purchase a Bail Office and work with Maude and Jenette Eccles to locate and bring in bounty targets. The task may sound simple, but the bounty targets defend themselves with weapons and if they die, players lose out on 75% of the reward. Therefore, disarming and incapacitating the targets yields the most profit for GTA Online bounty hunters, but that's easier said than done.

GTA Online players must use non-lethal weapons like the Stun Gun or delicately injure bounty targets to successfully disarm and apprehend them. However, Reddit user JMking2023 has found that chucking a snowball at a bounty target disarms them instantly. The user recently shared a video on the GTA Online subreddit where they lobbed a snowball during a shootout with high-profile bounty target Grace Whitney and immediately disarmed her. The target then surrendered, allowing JMking2023 to bring her in for the full reward.
GTA Online Bounty Hunter Missions Become Extremely Easy Thanks to Snowballs
It goes without saying that this trick not only saves bounty hunters a lot of time, but minimizes the risk of killing the target and compromising the payout as well. The entirety of Los Santos is currently covered with snow to celebrate the holiday season, so GTA Online players can pick up and throw snowballs almost anywhere on the map to take advantage of this bounty hunting trick. Like every preceding year, though, snow will only be in GTA Online for a limited time. Rockstar will likely remove snow from GTA Online's map sometime in early January 2025.
Therefore, GTA Online's dedicated bounty hunters don't have long to make use of the snowball method and accrue as much cash as possible by bringing targets in alive. Those who aren't as interested in bounty hunting, meanwhile, can engage in snowball fights with other GTA Online players. On a more somber note, this might well be the very last snowfall of GTA Online as GTA 6 is slated to release in fall 2025. However, with GTA 6's Trailer 2 nowhere to be seen more than a year after the first trailer, fears of a delay are intensifying among the community.
