A GTA Online player has hit a stunning milestone in earnings in just under a decade of playing the game. The GTA Online accomplishment has impressed many fans, with them sharing how far they've come in the game over the years they've been playing it.
GTA Online has been a popular game for over a decade now, with the game regularly receiving updates that add fresh content, new heists and missions, and a slew of vehicles and weapons to purchase. While GTA Online players haven't been happy about every change made to the game, it still manages to maintain a strong playerbase all these years after its release.
GTA Online Players Are Just Realizing That a 4-Month-Old Update Broke a Much-Loved Feature
Grand Theft Auto Online players are outraged after realizing that June's Bottom Dollar Bounties update broke an iconic GTA 5 feature.
One fan in particular seems to have been hard at work for nearly as long as the game has been available to play. GTA Online player AlexLovesMetallica94 took to the game's main subreddit to share their impressive feat of reaching a billion in GTA$ earnings in just under ten years. The player shared a screenshot, revealing their absurd in-game bank balance of $1,000,601,382. Having this much GTA$ stashed away has genuinely surprised and impressed others, with many comparing their own earnings to AlexLovesMetallica94's.
What Else Did the GTA Online Player Accomplish?
While having a billion in the bank would shock most players, some seemed to think that the player hadn't actually bought much of anything during that time. However, they noted that they estimate that their overall earnings over the course of the game are somewhere in the neighborhood of $1.2 billion, and they've definitely spent a lot of money. In all, the player says that they own 260 vehicles, over twenty flying vehicles, the sub, a ton of GTA Online's businesses, multiple apartments, and a yacht. In all, they earned their cash through a combination of heists, races, and business sales.
Needless to say, earning a billion in-game isn't the norm for GTA Online. While several players speculated that they've earned hundreds of millions in their time, if everyone made that much money in GTA Online through in-game methods, chances are Shark Cards wouldn't be so popular. Depending on how much longer Rockstar Games supports GTA Online, it's possible that this player or others will surpass this number. It remains to be seen how any online components in GTA 6 handle earnings once the game releases, but gamers continue to show that with enough dedication and focus, it's possible to do plenty without ever spending any money past purchasing the game.
