Arc System Works has announced that the Nintendo Switch version of Guilty Gear Strive will add its latest DLC character, Queen Dizzy, for free as part of an upcoming update. 2021's Guilty Gear Strive is one of Arc System Works' most popular fighting games. Four years after its launch on the PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S consoles, Strive is finally coming to the Nintendo Switch platform in January 2025. The port contains 28 playable characters at launch, which includes the game's first three seasons of DLC.
The diverse roster of Guilty Gear Strive is one of the largest in the franchise's history, including fan favorites like Sol Badguy and Slayer. Both the vanilla version's story mode and Another Story episode are included in this version as well. While the Nintendo Switch version of Guilty Gear Strive doesn't support crossplay with the other platforms, rollback netcode is installed for players to enjoy relatively stable online battles. Players of the Switch version will also be getting the first character of Strive's fourth season for absolutely free.
Guilty Gear Strive Releases Update 14.1
Arc System Works releases Update 14.1 patch notes for Guilty Gear Strive, introducing a new game mode alongside various key fixes.
In a recent post by Arc System Works on its official accounts, it confirms that Queen Dizzy will be added as part of a free content update that will release in February 2025, about a month after the launch of the game on Switch. Queen Dizzy was first added to Strive earlier this October for all other versions, available to purchase individually for $6.99, or as part of the Season Pass 4 bundle for $24.99. Most fans believe this to be a compromise because of the lack of crossplay and other limitations for the Nintendo Switch version of Strive.

- February 2025
Dizzy is one of Guilty Gear's most beloved characters, having made her first appearance in Guilty Gear X. As one of the veterans of the series, her return in Strive was highly anticipated. She is the Queen of Vialattea, ruling alongside her husband Ky Kiske. To reflect her new title, she has a much more regal appearance in Strive as well.
The second character planned for the fourth season of Guilty Gear Strive will be Venom, another returning fan favorite, who will be added sometime in early 2025. Following Venom will be Unika, a brand-new character many believe will play a role in the upcoming Guilty Gear Strive Dual Rulers anime. The last character is the series' first ever guest fighter, Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, an anime tie-in to CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 game. It's not stated if the aforementioned remaining characters of Season 4 will also be released for free or if they will be paid DLC for the Nintendo Switch version of Guilty Gear Strive.
