Gunfire Reborn: How To Enhance Scrolls

Occult Scrolls in Gunfire Reborn are the method by which players primarily power up the character that they chose out of all the playable characters in the game during a run. When completing certain tasks, clearing Vaults, or defeating Bosses these Scrolls (either Normal, Rare, or Legendary) will drop that have all sorts of different effects that can quickly propel a character like the Crown Prince from pretty good to just straight-up 'broken'.

And, Enhanced Scrolls make this jump in power even easier to achieve, but most players are unaware of how Enhanced Scrolls are made, found, or if they're even 'made' at all. So, let's go over where to find these elusive items in Gunfire Reborn and the best ways to go about getting them.

Enhanced Occult Scrolls Overview

The Occult Scrolls in this game vary wildly in their effects, rarities, and usages depending on the player's character and the current build. However, despite all this, Enhanced Scrolls are usually good enough to use even if the effects feel like they directly clash with the rest of the build.

As one would expect, these are just 'upgraded' versions of the default Scrolls. These upgrades are usually actualized as additional effects stacked on top of the Scroll's default effects or just higher bonuses to those same default effects instead. Every single Occult Scroll in Gunfire Reborn (excluding Cursed Scrolls) has an Enhanced variant, and all of these Enhanced variations can be seen in the Logbook on the Main Menu ahead of time.

Where To Find Enhanced Occult Scrolls

Now, the majority of players have already finished tons and tons of runs in Gunfire Reborn, but a large portion of them have still never stumbled across an Enhanced Scroll. Well, there's a good reason for this, as Enhanced Scrolls only appear on any of the Reincarnation difficulty levels or in the Spiritual Assault mode.

There's no method by which players can obtain Enhanced Scrolls in any of the difficulty levels below Reincarnation 1, which includes Normal, Elite, and Nightmare. However, once they reach Reincarnation 1+ (maxing out at Reincarnation 8), they can find these Scrolls in a multitude of different places, such as:

Randomly dropped from Elite Enemies.
Found in Chests.
From the 'Search for Enhanced Scroll' option in Red Chests.
In the Phantom Peddlers' Shop.
Or when triggering the effect of the Occult Booster Spiritual Blessing purchased from the Spiritual Remnant NPC.

Out of all these locations, players will have the highest chance of finding Enhanced Scrolls (reliably, at least) in Red Chests or in the Phantom Peddler Shop. The chance of them dropping randomly from Elite enemies is pretty low, and there are a ton of different Spiritual Blessings the Remnant can offer, so it's a small chance players will get offered Occult Booster repeatedly without having to waste a bunch of Soul Essence re-rolling the Remnant's options. And as a final note, in Spiritual Assault, Enhanced Scrolls can be offered as level rewards but are most commonly found in the Red Chests that spawn around the map that cost Soul Essence to open.
