Encountered in the Fields of Mourning of Hades 2, Echo is an arcane character with no world model but a fully realized model in dialogues. When spoken to, she repeats the last thing Melinoë said three times, sometimes coincidentally hinting at her predicament... Her predicament... Her predicament...
Hades 2: How To Get Moon Dust
Moon Dust is an important resource in Hades 2 that is used to upgrade one of the game's new core systems – Arcanas.
Like other NPCs that you can run into during a run, Echo will offer a selection of special rewards. These are all themed around the concept of an echo, and will bring back items you've already acquired, boons you've collected before, or grant other rewards that deteriorate with time... With time... With time...
Because Hades 2 is only available in Early Access, this list of all Echo choices in Hades 2 may be incomplete, and will likely expand over time. This guide to the best Hades 2 Echo rewards will be updated to reflect patches and balance changes as the game approaches its 1.0 version.
Boon Boon Boon
Echo's Boon Boon Boon reward gives you a random Boon that Melinoë picked up on the previous night. The random aspect of this reward makes it hard to recommend. Depending on what is offered, Boon Boon Boon could either be the best Echo choice or the worst.
You might get offered the Heroic version of Soot Sprint you had when you beat Eris the night before, or you might get the Common version of Furnace Blast, which only works with specific boons and effects.
Unfortunately, the boon selected for the Boon Boon Boon reward will not be displayed next to the choice (unlike Reward Reward Reward).
Reward Reward Reward
Just like Boon Boon Boon, Echo's Reward Reward Reward choice gives Melinoë an item she has already acquired. This time, though, it's the previous Reward that you acquired in this run.
Hades 2: How To Get Limestone
To get Limestone in Hades 2, you must get past Erebus, the first area of the game – and don't forget to bring along a Pick.
This can range from anything from Ashes to Gold to even a Boon choice – if the last reward you got was a Boon, you'll get another choice from the same God. Considering that Fight Fight Fight and Evade Evade Evade are not based on chance, Reward Reward Reward tends to not be worth picking.
But, if the last thing you collected was a Boon from a powerful God, pick Reward Reward Reward for a chance to get something else from them. If you know you won't last much longer, it can be worth picking up just to double up on a recently-acquired Reagent, too.
Fight Fight Fight
Fight Fight Fight increases your max Life and Magick by a whopping 50%, but that amount is reduced by 10% after every Location. This boon is a huge, temporary boost that will all but certainly help you get past Cerberus and reach the House of Hades.
However, this Life and Magick buff will hardly ever last through to the final fight in the game. Even if you do manage to get all the way to Chronos within 10 Locations, the buff will be much reduced.
Pick Fight Fight Fight if you are on your last legs and need to just get past Cerberus for a chance to keep going. But in most situations, Evade Evade Evade should be your first pick at Echo.
Evade Evade Evade
Evade Evade Evade is not chance-based like the Boon or Reward Echo choices, nor does its power drop off quite as quickly as Fight Fight Fight (10 Locations). With this, you gain a 50% chance to dodge any damage, but that value goes down by 2% every time you successfully dodge an attack.
Hades 2: How Long to Beat
With the release of the complete 1.0 version of the game, the time it takes to beat Hades 2 is significantly longer than the first game.
When picked alongside Arcana and other upgrades that increase your Dodge chance, Evade Evade Evade makes Melinoë virtually impossible to kill. Even when picked on its own, Evade Evade Evade is worth the massive jump in your avoidance and ability to mitigate incoming damage.
Though Reward Reward Reward and Boon Boon Boon can offer you powerful boons and upgrades, they are based on chance and can't exactly be planned around. Fight Fight Fight runs out too fast to be worthwhile at the end of the game, though it is useful as a short-term lifeline.
But if you can play well and not use all your Dodge boost, Evade Evade Evade can make the Chronos boss fight significantly easier. This is the best Echo reward to choose if Reward Reward Reward doesn't offer a good boon choice, or if your Life is already high enough to not need Fight Fight Fight.
