As Melinoe makes her way up towards the realm of the gods in Hades 2, she'll have a wide range of new items to collect for crafting. Whether it be upgrades or incantations, Mount Olympus has several types of materials that will be required for multiple permanent upgrades. Here, we will be looking for one object in particular: Iris. Iris has many uses in Hades 2, and will be tricky to find for old and new players alike. This guide will help players find Iris in Hades 2.
How to Get Iris Flowers in Hades 2
Iris flowers are the primary 'flower' type resource on Mount Olympus, the new region that was added to Hades 2 in the Olympic Update. Like the materials in other regions, whether an Iris will show up is ultimately down to RNG. Hades 2 features multiple tools that will make some resources more likely to appear, but the surface flowers do not seem to be affected by these.
To find Iris in Hades 2, players must have the new Olympic Update downloaded, then make it through the City of Ephyra and the Rift of Thessaly, defeating Polyphemus and Eris respectively. This will unlock the new Mount Olympus region, which is overrun with new enemies, including the dangerous Automatons. This is the region where you will find the Iris flower. There is no way to guarantee which chamber will contain the Iris, but we have found it in at least two chambers per run.
If you do not have the Observance of Gaia's Secret incantation unlocked and completed, you should check the Cauldron at the Crossroads as soon as possible. This incantation provides a 20% chance to acquire one extra resource whenever you pick one up. This is not an early game incantation, so you may need to play through the game until it unlocks. Having it can save a huge amount of time while trying to amass crafting, upgrade, and incantation materials.
