Best Boons in Hades 2, Ranked

New and returning Gods in Hades 2 will offer Melinoë boons to help her accomplish her task – these are the best Boons for any build.

However, rolling credits is only the end of Melinoë's main goal – after defeating Chronos for the final time, a new epilogue story begins to unfold. This guide explains how to get the True Ending in Hades 2 and what you must do to complete the epilogue story and earn the Golden Age achievement.

How to Get the Hades 2 True Ending

Step One: Defeat Chronos

The first milestone in the Hades 2 story comes after Melinoë defeats Chronos for the first time. Chronos will not be truly defeated and will reconstitute himself over and over again, and will continue to show up at the end of every Underworld run for the rest of the game.

But the first time Melinoë accomplishes her lifelong goal, she will not only progress into the room beyond the main chambers of the House of Hades and meet a familiar face – she will also unlock the Dissolution of Time Incantation.

This Incantation prevents Chronos from being able to reconstitute himself night after night, but to complete it, you'll need 5x Z-Sand (from defeating Chronos repeatedly) and 1x Entropy. To get Entropy in Hades 2, you'll have to perform an impossible feat at the end of the Surface route.

Step Two: Defeat Typhon

After unlocking the Surface route, and after figuring out how to survive on the Surface in Hades 2, you must progress to the end of the Summit of Mount Olympus to face Typhon, the Father of All Monsters. Typhon takes up the majority of the screen and cannot truly be defeated – its HP bar even breaks and disappears at the start of the fight to indicate its overwhelming strength.

Hades 2 True Ending Guide Defeat Typhon 3 Hecate Incantation

After defeating Typhon twice, Melinoë will be able to unlock the Disintegration of Monstrosity Incantation. This Incantation doesn't kill Typhon – it imbues a weapon with the power to utterly eliminate the Father of All Monsters from existence.

In addition to 4x V-Lens (which drops from Typhon), players must find Gigaros – Hades' own spear – to complete the Incantation.

Step Three: Complete Disintegration of Monstrosity & Defeat Typhon

You must defeat both Chronos and Typhon at least once to unlock the Dissolution of Time and Disintegration of Monstrosity Incantations. However, you cannot complete Dissolution of Time until you complete Disintegration of Monstrosity first, which requires Melinoë to recover Hades' spear Gigaros from the Underworld route.

After beating Chronos, Melinoë will enter Zagreus' room and be able to commune with a version of her brother from a time long past. As you complete more Underworld runs, Melinoë will slowly convince Zagreus that she is real and concoct a plan to eliminate Chronos forever.

After the f ifth time you defeat Chronos, Zag will come up with the idea to use Gigaros as a weapon to eliminate Typhon.

Melinoë will tell Zag to recover Gigaros however he can, then leave it somewhere she can find it in the future (in her present). Defeat Chronos once more, and you will find Gigaros lying on the floor next to Zag's bed.

Use this to complete the Disintegration of Monstrosity Incantation, then finish a Surface run and defeat Typhon one more time. Upon defeat, Melinoë will take out the imbued Gigaros and eradicate Typhon from existence.

Hades 2 True Ending Guide Disintegration of Monstrosity 4 Entropy

When you close the game summary screen, 1x Entropy will spawn next to the V-Lens.

Step Four: Complete Dissolution of Time & Defeat Chronos

Take the Entropy you earned by eliminating the Father of All Monsters back to the Cauldron and, along with 5x Z-Sand (which you should acquire as you work toward getting Gigaros), use it to complete the Dissolution of Time Incantation. This Incantation prevents Chronos from reconstituting himself, allowing Melinoë to serve a final end to the Titan of Time.

Hades 2 True Ending Guide Dissolution of Time 3 Chronos Defeat

After casting Dissolution of Time to imbue Gigaros with the power to destroy Chronos, undertake one final Underworld run. Defeat Chronos, then proceed into Zag's room once more. Melinoë will grant Zag's version of Gigaros the Dissolution of Time Incantation as well, and tell him to kill their grandfather as he reconstitutes himself in the past.

Hades 2 True Ending Guide Dissolution of Time 4 Zagreus Gigaros

What follows this final interaction with Zagreus via the Mirror of Night is a long sequence in which, against all odds, Zagreus is successful in convincing Chronos to abandon his campaign of revenge. Enjoy the final moments of the story as you earn the Hades 2 True Ending and witness Chronos' alternate life first-hand, which leads him to submit himself to the judgment of the Gods and cease his invasion.

How to Unlock the Epilogue Ending in Hades 2

Hades 2 True Ending Guide Epilogue Chronos House of Hades

After the credits roll in Hades 2, there is still plenty to do to unlock the Hades 2 epilogue ending. In the original Hades, you would see credits after defeating Hades for the tenth time.

In the epilogue, Zagreus had a new goal: instead of trying to escape the Underworld, Zag sought to organize a grand family reunion by building up his relationship with the Gods and inviting them to the event through Boons. Upon completion, you would get the One For The Ages achievement.

Likewise, Hades 2 has the achievement Death To Chronos, which triggers after you see credits, and the achievement Golden Age, which triggers after completing the post-game story.

Aside from it likely requiring Melinoë to find the Fates and increase her relationship with major NPCs, the exact requirements to complete the Hades 2 epilogue are not currently known. This guide to the Hades 2 True Ending will be updated with more information as we continue progress toward the end of the Hades 2 epilogue - stay tuned!
