Keepsakes are items in Hades 2 that grant a variety of bonuses when they are equipped. Players will not have access to Keepsakes straightaway, though, and they will need to unlock them by gifting Nectar to various characters. This guide is here to provide more details on that process, and it will help fans get all the Keepsakes in Hades 2.

The "All Keepsakes" section in this guide contains information that could definitely be seen as spoilers. Hades 2 players who want to keep spoilers to a minimum are thus advised to avoid browsing that section until they have made significant progress in the game. Additionally, it is worth noting that this guide has been updated for the 1.0 release.

How to Get Keepsakes in Hades 2

Nectar is the Key

hades 2 keepsakes

The first step toward getting Keepsakes is obtaining an indulgence in Hades 2 known as Nectar. For the uninitiated, Nectar can be earned during runs by passing through doors that are marked with its symbol, and players can also purchase one Nectar per cycle from the Wretched Broker.

After getting some Nectar, players should set their sights on gifting one to each of the characters in Hades 2. This can be done simply by approaching a character (or their insignia in the case of a God in Hades 2) and pressing the "Gift" input that appears at the bottom of the screen. If the gift is the first Nectar that the character has received, they will grant a Keepsake in return, and the "All Keepsakes" section that is at the bottom of this guide details exactly which character provides each Keepsake.

How to Equip Keepsakes in Hades 2

After unlocking a Keepsake, players can equip it through the display case in the Training Grounds. For full clarity, the Training Grounds is the room where players select their Nocturnal Arms before starting a run, and the display case is to the left of the weapons. Additionally, players have the opportunity to change their equipped Keepsake at the display case that appears between Regions after performing the Kindred Keepsakes incantation.

How to Improve Keepsakes in Hades 2

hades 2 keepsakes

Keepsakes in Hades 2 are Rank 1 when they are unlocked, and players can improve them by clearing Encounters with them equipped. More specifically, a Rank 1 Keepsake can be improved to Rank 2 by having it equipped for 25 Encounters, and a Rank 2 Keepsake can be improved to Rank 3 by having it equipped for 50 Encounters. Players can see how close they are to improving a Keepsake by selecting it in the display case and looking at the bottom of the screen.

Players can temporarily improve Rank 3 Keepsakes to Rank 4 by obtaining Cherished Heirloom, a Duo Boon from Demeter and Hera, during a run.
