There are a lot of currencies and stats to upgrade in Hades 2, but arguably the most important is Melinoe's Grasp stat. Because each Arcana card has an associated Grasp cost (anywhere from one to five Grasp, depending on the power level of the card), increasing Grasp means you can equip more Arcana cards for your next run.

Equip More Arcana By Increasing Grasp at the Altar of Ashes

To get more Grasp, Hades 2 players must spend Psyche to unlock higher Grasp tiers at the Altar of Ashes. Located at the entrance to Melinoe's training grounds in the Crossroads, the Altar of Ashes allows players to customize their Arcana layout and increase Grasp.

Psyche has a green, ethereal icon, and can be acquired by choosing rooms with this icon while on runs. You can also get it by compelling Shades with Frinos or by purchasing it from the Broker, at a rate of 5 Psyche for 30 Bones.

However, it's not immediately apparent how to increase Grasp while in the Arcana menu. To do this, scroll over (or move your cursor over) to the Grasp icon on the top-right of the screen. You must be highlighting the Grasp icon on the top-right of the Arcana menu to increase Grasp in Hades 2.

What is the Max Grasp in Hades 2?

At first, players only have a total of 10 Grasp, which rapidly becomes very limiting as players unlock more Arcana cards that cost more Grasp to equip. By spending Psyche to increase Grasp, Hades 2 players can increase Grasp up to a maximum of 30 Grasp.
