Hades 2 Path of Stars Explained

After going through a couple of runs in Hades 2, players will eventually meet with Selene, the Moon Incarnate. She will offer Melinoe several Gifts of the Moon Boons that can give players access to some pretty powerful abilities.

We've discovered eight Gifts of the Moon Boons so far, which can be found in a table further in this guide. However, Hades 2 players might be confused about how to upgrade these Boons using the Path of Stars and what the different Moonglows mean for each one.

Selene's Powers

What makes the Gifts of the Moon unique is that each can only be used once Melinoe has spent enough Magick in battle. Once the threshold has been met, you can unleash the Moon's might with a tap of the right trigger. Depending on your run, each Boon will have a corresponding Moonglow, altering players' upgrades for the Path of Stars, which we will get into later. However, it seems that the Moonglow will change each run.

Here's a table of the Gifts of the Moon we've discovered so far in Hades 2, as well as each one's effects:

Moon Water	Your Hex restores 25 Hearts up to 3 times, which reset whenever you use Fountains. Ready after: 70 Magick
Night Bloom	Your Hex raises 1 random slain foe from this Encounter to fight for you for 12 sec. Ready after 100 Magick

The skills listed will show up with a particular Moonglow listed below that will affect the Path of Stars:

Full Moonglow - This Hex has the most potential; it gains +2 upgrades from your next Path of Stars.
Half Moonglow - This Hex has greater potential; it gains +1 upgrade from your next Path of Stars.
Crescent Moonglow - This Hex has no special bonuses; the sheer might of the Moon shall have to suffice.

What is the Path of Stars in Hades 2?

You can upgrade your moon Boons with the Path of Stars. You can check out the path for your chosen Boon by pressing the Info button when looking at your equipped Boons while you're out in the Underworld.

This upgrade path includes little bonuses that will make your moon Boon much more effective. The thing is, you will not be able to upgrade the Path of Stars unless you run into Selene again during a run. If you manage to pick a starting Moon Boon with a Full Moonglow, you'll be able to upgrade more boxes when you run into the Goddess again. And if you run into her more times during a run, you can continue to upgrade until all the enhancements are unlocked.
