Halo Infinite players have been encountering an assortment of glitches since the game's launch in November. While some have certainly been frustrating, others can actually be pretty entertaining, with one Halo Infinite player witnessing the Oddball flying around a map all on its own.

Fans will attest that while Halo Infinite plays well, there are still some janky bugs and glitches that can disrupt one's enjoyment. For example, Halo Infinite controller-on-PC players may lose their aim assist if they accidentally press start on their keyboard instead of their controller. This puts the game in a nearly unplayable state, as the game thinks that directional inputs on the gamepad are actually those of a mouse, making any sort of aiming practically impossible. Other bugs though have their share of fans, like one that causes the multiplayer Spartan lineup to become disorderly, making some Spartans facing the wrong way or placing them far away from the rest of their team.

A Halo Infinite player has shared a strange video on Twitter of an Oddball zipping around a map by itself. Coach Juckor was in a custom game on the map Streets trying to perform the Oddball melee-into-orbit glitch when suddenly "it started flying around on its own," they write in their tweet. As one can see in the video, the Oddball seems to be flying in a tight, circular motion relative to Juckor, passing through the wall above the Bulldog vending machine, moving into Main Street, then doubling back to Cafe. Naturally, the image of a fast-moving, flying ball has Halo Infinite players drawing comparisons to Harry Potter's Quidditch, and the desire for some sort of game mode based on it.

In a follow-up tweet, Juckor explains how to trigger the glitch as well as why they can't grab the ball out of its path. Essentially, after performing the Oddball melee glitch, if the player crouches on the Oddball respawn point until it actually does so, they will begin to see the Oddball start chasing itself in mid-air. Interestingly though, as Juckor explains, the floating Oddball is just a visual bug and not the actual one itself, as players can actually still go over to the Oddball pedestal and pick it up at any time. It is unclear from the video however if picking up the Oddball after triggering the glitch causes the Quidditch effect to stop.

Based on player reactions, this seems to be another Halo Infinite glitch that fans wouldn't mind remaining in the game because of its silly nature. Since the Oddball is still playable after causing the visual glitch, it's impact on gameplay seems to be fairly minimal, but if there are two Oddball indicators on screen, things might get a little confusing. It makes one wonder if there are any other Oddball glitches waiting to be discovered since this and the melee one were found so close together.

Halo Infinite is available on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
